Finding the 5 Best Audiologists in Indianapolis for Your Hearing Health

audiologists-in-indianapolis
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Diagnostic Technology: We prioritized clinics that use advanced diagnostic equipment for highly accurate auditory testing. This ensures that every patient receives a precise baseline evaluation before any treatment begins.

Provider Credentials: Our evaluation favored practices led by a doctor of audiology or specialized neurotologists rather than standard retail dispensers. High-level medical training guarantees a deeper understanding of complex neurological hearing issues.

Treatment Versatility: We selected professionals offering a wide variety of independent device brands and holistic therapies. Patients deserve access to customized solutions that fit their exact physical comfort and budget constraints.

Long-Term Patient Care: The strongest clinics demonstrate a clear commitment to ongoing maintenance and follow-up support. We heavily weighed patient feedback regarding empathetic communication and the availability of complimentary adjustments.

Navigating age-related hearing changes or sudden balance issues can feel overwhelming, but finding a reliable audiologist will give you clarity and confidence. Whether you need a standard hearing evaluation, specialized tinnitus relief, or advanced digital hearing aids, the right professional makes all the difference.

That’s why I’ve explored the best audiologists in Indianapolis, highlighting compassionate, knowledgeable specialists who understand your unique auditory needs.

meridian-audiology

Website: https://meridianaudiology.com/

Address: 911 E 86th St #35

Contact: (317) 731-5386

Hours: Mon – Fri: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Adults struggling to process speech in noisy environments will appreciate Meridian Audiology, the only clinic in Indiana specializing in Adult Auditory Processing Disorder (A-APD).

Their doctor-owned, anti-mass model prioritizes clinical healthcare and prevention over high-volume retail sales.

When I spoke directly to a patient who recently synchronized their hearing aids with cochlear implants here, they raved about the incredibly thorough and unhurried care.

The clinic is also rolling out a custom digital hearing assistant to help patients troubleshoot technical device issues immediately.

On top of that, their extensive insurance compatibility makes them a fantastic choice for seniors.

That said, they primarily focus on adult care, meaning families needing pediatric services will have to look elsewhere.

Plus, their restricted weekday hours ending at 4:00 PM make it difficult for working professionals to schedule visits.

Pros

  • State-exclusive A-APD specialization
  • Accepts over 200 insurance plans
  • Complimentary adult hearing screenings
  • Holistic tinnitus management options

Cons

  • Office closes early on weekdays
  • Lacks pediatric audiology services

Absolutely fantastic experience

Absolutely fantastic experience w Dr. Wyss from start to finish: Extremely knowledgeable and friendly / personable. Super qualified and patient: Took the time to explain things, answer questions and made helpful recommendations. Very patient-focused.

Everything I could have hoped for in an Audiologist/ hearing aid fitting. Very pleased with my aids and experience as a whole – Highly recommended!!!

I can NOT recommend MA enough!

For years I denied having a hearing loss. After the urging of my husband, and after meeting our insurance deductibles, I decided to face my fears. I called MA and spoke with Ali and made the appointment. From our first time we spoke to 5 days later when I received my hearing aids, I could not have asked for a better experience. Ali was reassuring and made me feel less “exposed” at admitting I had hearing loss. I can NOT recommend MA enough! Thank you, Ali!

Address: 9011 N Meridian St

Contact: (317) 793-6358

Hours:

  • Fri: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Patients seeking deep community roots will find great comfort at Professional Hearing Services, recognized as the longest-standing private audiology practice in the area.

They use specialized ear-to-brain diagnostics to understand exactly how your brain processes sound in complex environments.

The clinic is owned and operated by a doctor of audiology (Au.D.), ensuring that clinical ethics always take priority over manufacturer sales quotas.

Plus, they specialize in advanced hearing technology, including invisible-in-the-canal (IIC) devices and assistive listening devices (ALDs). They also provide lifetime support with ongoing adjustments and emergency care.

One notable downside, however, is their single-location access on North Meridian Street, which presents a long commute for residents living in the southern suburbs.

Pros

  • Doctor-led clinical ownership
  • Scientific real ear measurements
  • Comprehensive lifetime care plans
  • Multi-device technology specialization

Cons

  • Single location limits regional accessibility
  • Office closed on weekends

Customer Reviews

Very accommodating and very nice

First off I’m a 60-year-old Man. I didn’t realize how helpful a hearing aid would actually be. So I recommended to anyone with any sort of hearing loss. It’s been a game changer for me. As far as Olivia and the team they are outstanding. Extremely informative and helpful for me to understand my options and where my hearing is affected. This group is awesome. They even help clear out my ear on a random appointment I set. Very accommodating very nice and I would recommend this group to anyone.

Staff was friendly

Staff was friendly and the audiologist discussed various customized solutions to achieve my hearing goals. Did NOT feel pressured for hearing aid purchase and was given trial options. Excellent practice outside the modern corporate medicine model! Highly recommend!

3. Midwest Ear Institute

Website: https://midwestear.com/

Address: 7440 Shadeland Ave # 150

Contact: (317) 996-9418

Hours:

  • Mon – Thu: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Fri: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Families facing complex neurological hearing disorders should turn to Midwest Ear Institute, a high-volume regional authority for surgical cochlear implants and bone-anchored hearing aids (BAHA).

The practice is uniquely led by neurotologists, who are surgeons with extra years of training specifically focused on the skull base and inner ear.

I personally recommended this institute to a friend dealing with severe balance issues, and they were incredibly grateful for the sophisticated electrophysiologic evaluations that pinpointed the root cause.

Renowned surgeons like Dr. Vincent Ostrowski work alongside clinical audiologists to provide a seamless interdisciplinary approach.

On the downside, you can expect longer clinical wait times for initial consultations compared to retail centers because they operate as a highly specialized medical institute.

Moreover, they strictly focus on the ear and balance, meaning they don’t treat general ear, nose, and throat (ENT) issues like sinus infections.

Pros

  • Led by sub-specialized neurotologist surgeons
  • Interdisciplinary surgical and audiology team
  • Deep experience in pediatric care
  • Treats rare conditions like Meniere’s

Cons

  • Longer clinical consultation wait times
  • No general ENT services provided

Customer Reviews

Dr. Ostrowski and Amy are especially wonderful!

I have been extremely pleased with the full service team at Midwest Ear. They not only got me hooked up with a quality of life changing hearing aid about 5 years ago, but they’ve been wonderful problem-solving both hearing aid issues and changes in my hearing. They listen and address my concerns which is very much appreciated. Dr. Ostrowski and Amy are especially wonderful!

I highly recommend this center

Was recommended by my PCP for tinnitus. Had hearing test and my caregiver Jamie did a great job and recommended I get a hearing aid. Met with Val, who is an audiologist, in their facility as well. She did a great job and recommended the right hearing aid for me. She really cares and is very enthusiastic about helping me fell better. I highly recommend this center for all your hearing needs.

4. Indiana Hearing Aid Company

Website: https://www.hearindiana.com

Address: 7383 Shadeland Ave

Contact: (317) 348-0253

Hours: Tue & Fri: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Convenience and accessibility define the patient experience at Indiana Hearing Aid Company, which boasts ten different clinic locations across the region.

Founded by Robert W. Stewart in 1989, this family-owned operation leverages over 35 years of local experience to foster consistent, generational patient relationships.

They maintain true brand independence by offering devices from a wide variety of top manufacturers, ensuring you receive unbiased recommendations.

To help lower the barrier for first-time patients, they emphasize a low-risk entry point complete with a thirty-day trial period and free initial consultations.

Unfortunately, their clinical model is heavily dispensing-focused. Patients requiring advanced surgical interventions or complex neurotology care will need to go elsewhere.

Pros

  • Convenient geographic regional reach
  • True independent brand availability
  • Universal device repair services
  • Generational family leadership continuity

Cons

  • Highly dispensing-focused clinical model
  • Lacks advanced surgical intervention capabilities
  • Only open twice a week

My experience was very good

My experience was very good. I have starkey hearing aids. Matt made some adjustments to update my hearing quality after an efficient hearing test. I’m very pleased with the results. The receptionist and Matt are very pleasant and helpful there at the Shadland office in Indianapolis.

Address: 5110 Commerce Square Dr # A

Contact: (317) 720-1989

Residents seeking deeply personalized auditory wellness will thrive at Southside Hearing Care, led by veteran audiologist Jennifer Lane, Au.D.

With nearly 25 years of specialized experience in the local community, Dr. Lane ensures that patients are treated by a consistent expert rather than rotating technicians.

The clinic operates as a full-service medical facility, offering tailored lifestyle programming where devices are custom-fitted to your specific daily environments. They also offer access to nearly every major hearing aid brand.

Their holistic approach extends to custom-molded ear protection for musicians and heavy equipment operators.

However, their highly limited weekly schedule, which excludes weekend appointments, creates a significant scheduling barrier for full-time workers.

Pros

  • Custom-fitted lifestyle device programming
  • Access to universal technology brands
  • Holistic custom-molded ear protection

Cons

  • Limited weekly operating schedule
