1. Indy City Barbell

Website: https://indycitybarbell.com/
Address: 104 S College Ave
Contact: 317-402-7004
Hours: Available 24/7
Finding a facility that truly caters to heavy lifting without arbitrary rules is incredibly refreshing. I recently dropped in here to test my one-rep max, and the energy on the floor is absolutely electric.
Owned by elite powerlifters, Indy City Barbell offers expert guidance and specialized meet-prep programs for competitive lifters.
They even use the Train Heroic application to deliver structured community workout programs, which help build a strong sense of community.
Another big help is that you get round-the-clock member access, so you can easily hit the platforms at midnight if that fits your schedule.
If you cannot make it downtown, they offer comprehensive online coaching via video conferencing.
The only downside is the intense, specialized environment. It lacks traditional commercial amenities and might intimidate casual fitness beginners.
Plus, purchasing a single personal training session comes at a steep $80 premium.
Morgan at Indy City Barbell is the real deal. Super knowledgeable, motivating, and somehow makes lifting heavy things fun. He knows how to connect with clients and keeps pushing you without being pushy. The gym itself? Awesome. Great equipment, super clean, and full of the nicest (and strongest) folks you’ll meet. Zero ego, zero intimidation—just good vibes and hard work. I’m already seeing progress and actually look forward to workouts now. Can’t wait to continue this journey at ICB.

I’ve been doing personal training for about 4 weeks now and have seen a huge increase in my lifts. Coaches are knowledgeable and will absolutely get you to where you want to be at with your fitness goals. The atmosphere in this gym is also amazing. I would recommend the personal training program to anyone regardless of your skill level. Shoutout to Nick! I would’ve never guessed we would make the progress that we made in just 4 weeks. Can’t wait to see where the remainder of the program takes me!

2. Anytime Fitness

Address: 47 S Pennsylvania St, 2nd Fl
Contact: 317-536-0815
Hours: Available 24/7
If you’re juggling a packed work schedule, having a gym that’s easy to access makes all the difference, and this one checks that box. Located on the second floor of the Majestic Building, Anytime Fitness runs 24/7.
This means you can work out early in the morning, late at night, or even on holidays without worrying about closures.
They also do a nice job welcoming new members. They often offer low-cost enrollment specials along with two free one-hour personal training sessions to help you get started.
Their partnerships with local businesses also provide valuable corporate wellness discounts, a great perk for downtown professionals.
They’ve also teamed up with Apple to offer up to three free months of Apple Fitness+, giving members access to a wide range of virtual classes.
That said, out-of-town guests may have trouble entering the building outside regular weekday hours unless arrangements are made in advance.
Also, staffed office hours can change, making walk-in inquiries less reliable.
We needed a place for our pitchers to get a lift in when we were on the road. The gym was super accommodating and took care of us. Got us an access key for after hours. It’s a great place to be if you need a gym

Cavin and Renee were very accommodating during my 3 month stay in Indy! The gym was never super busy whenever I went M-F around 4pm or on the weekends. The gym space has everything I needed to get in my workouts. Would definitely come back to visit whenever I am in Indy again.

3. Get Fit Athletic Club

Website: https://getfitathleticclub.com/
Address: 7140 E Washington St
Contact: 317-357-4653
Hours: Tuesday to Thursday 24 Hours | Monday 4:00AM–12:00AM | Friday 12:00AM–10:00PM | Saturday 7:00AM–7:00PM | Sunday 10:00AM–6:00PM
Sometimes you need a variety of engaging amenities to keep your fitness journey exciting and consistent. And Get Fit Athletic Club does a great job of keeping things interesting.
I visited this club last month with a friend using their unlimited guest privileges, and was blown away by the massive Cardio Theatre playing the latest films on a big screen.
New members also get a complimentary one-hour Smart Start planning session with a coach, which is a helpful way to figure out your goals and create a realistic routine.
Another thoughtful feature is the private workout space reserved just for female members.
Beyond standard equipment, you can hop on the in-house racquetball courts or even take a Zumba or aerobic dance class.
That said, the discounted personal training trial is limited to one use, so you won’t get multiple chances at that lower rate.
Cardio machine availability can also be tight during peak evening hours, as some machines are occasionally blocked for spacing.
My boyfriend and I really like coming to this gym. They are always welcoming and always encouraging to members! One employee for sure who always make sure I am good when I see her around is my girl Bre✨ she handles her job very well and gets it done! Between helping members and help keeping the gym clean is a bonus! Every time I see her at the front desk my mood goes even more up! But as a whole team I appreciate EVERYONE in there !

I went in planning to do the 3-day free trial, but I ended up getting a membership instead. I’ve been going for about two days now, and my first impression of the gym has been really good. Since I’m new to working out in a gym, having a welcoming environment helped a lot. Chazz was super friendly and talked me through everything, and he always greets me when he’s there, which honestly makes the experience better.

4. ARC Fitness

Website: http://www.arcfitnessonline.com/
Address: 1601 S East St
Contact: 317-747-2186
Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00AM-7:00PM | Saturday 10:00AM-3:00PM
If you’re serious about improving your form and seeing real progress, ARC Fitness puts a strong focus on personalized attention. Their approach centers on one-on-one coaching.
Their trainers even hold respected certifications from organizations like ACE and NASM.
What I like most is their whole-body approach to health. They pair their workouts with dedicated weight management and nutrition specialists.
If you are extremely busy, they offer virtual consultations via video calls and comprehensive online coaching that are just as effective as in-person sessions.
Their targeted training blocks can easily complement other specific athletic pursuits, like a local martial arts program.
The main downside is the limited weekend availability. They close at 3:00 PM on Saturdays and stay closed on Sundays, which can be inconvenient if weekends are your only free time.
You’ll also need to submit an online form and wait until the next business day to hear back, so getting started isn’t always immediate.
I have been training with Adam for almost a year and learning about body building. He is extremely knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition. Adam cares about his clients and helping them to achieve their health goals. ARC is a great gym for those looking to level up. They offer classes, training, and nutrition with awesome equipment you won’t find in large chain gyms. If you are looking for a more personalized experience ARC is for you!

ARC Fitness has been amazing for my fitness journey. The coaches actually pay attention, the workouts are well thought out, and the environment pushes you without feeling overwhelmed. The people are friendly, the space is clean, and everything runs the way a gym should. I’ve seen real progress since joining, and it’s one of the few gyms I’ve been to where I actually look forward to showing up. Highly recommend.

Contact: 317-361-4563

Working out in a place surrounded by highly motivated people can make a huge difference, and American Muscle Factory definitely has that driven, no-nonsense atmosphere.
It’s owned by a top-ranking Mr. Olympia competitor, so there’s a clear bodybuilding influence throughout the space. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the focus on performance and serious results.
The space features a fully stocked, in-house supplement store offering top-brand protein and fresh pre-made meals, along with a dedicated lounge area to recharge post-workout.
Members get exclusive access to an in-house massage therapist specializing in deep tissue and active recovery techniques.
Personal training options are available as well. They even offer discounted memberships for military personnel, first responders, educators, and students.
That said, their twelve-month memberships automatically renew unless you cancel during a specific window. They also don’t allow anyone under sixteen to join.
Great gym with a clean atmosphere and well-maintained equipment. The staff is friendly, and the trainers are helpful and motivating. It’s a comfortable place to work out with plenty of space and a positive vibe. Perfect for staying consistent with fitness goals. Highly recommended for anyone looking to get fit.

This is the best gym I have worked out at in a very long time. Excellent equipment, good music (for a change), and Landan and the entire staff are top notch, very welcoming. If I lived within an hour of this gym (I’m from Florida) I would be a member here.
