Stepping into this 1920s California-style stucco villa feels like entering a warm, historic home. It perfectly reflects Mama Carolla’s “Omaha Inspiration” philosophy of cooking for customers like family.
The space itself is cozy and inviting, with a hand-built bar and a crackling wood-burning fireplace that make it feel more like someone’s living room than a restaurant. Honestly, it’s one of the most romantic spots in the city.
The gluten-free penne stood out when I dined here. It soaks up the small-batch sauces beautifully, so you would hardly know it is not traditional pasta
Many of these authentic dishes were perfected in founder Carole Leuer’s own kitchen long before appearing on the menu.

I loved sitting outside, great atmosphere. The food was delicious and I recommend the steamed mussels as a starter. The flavor was strong but not overwhelming, and it was perfect to dip bread into. Very tasty. The veal medallion was also very good.
If you’re lucky, you’ll get Ashley as your waitress. She did an amazing job accommodating us and I would come back just for her service. You can tell that she has a lot of experience in hospitality.

Second time here & it was as wonderful as I remembered. The prosciutto and melon appetizer was a delight to the senses – mixing sweet & salty. Our server recommended the Mediterranean salad & it was also delicious. The service was timely & professional. A great date night spot! The Mediterranean pasta was extremely delicious and the spumoni gelato was like no other! Highly recommend if you’re looking for the best Italian dishes around, but expect a wait unless you have a large party with reservations.

Iozzo’s Garden of Italy serves up an authentic narrative-driven dining experience. Every sip and bite here is steeped in local history, featuring old-world generational recipes.
Among their offerings, my favourites are their famous meatballs and their proprietary “Heritage Collection” of spirits.
The dark, rich wines and house-made limoncello are intentionally crafted to honor family milestones, making the meal feel more special.
Honestly, the restaurant provides a brilliant combination of nostalgic charm and award-winning execution. It;s no wonder it continually earns top-tier accolades.
If you’re hoping to grab a quick weekend midday meal, you will have to look elsewhere, as they completely skip Saturday and Sunday lunch service.
Also, the brief closure between Friday lunch and dinner can be a frustrating hurdle for late-afternoon diners seeking a premium pasta fix.

Final meal of my weeklong trip in Indy, and this by far was the best meal I’ve had. My waitress Sarah was cheerful, helpful, and friendly. The rest of the staff were very attentive and they even went so far as to offer me some focaccia to soak up the last of the sauce from my entree, so it really does feel like an Italian trying to stuff you with the best they had to offer. I could not think of a single complaint despite knowing one usually signifies realism to a review.

Operating from the same corner since 1913, this century-old Hoosier institution has been run by four generations of the same family and serves original recipes that have truly stood the test of time.
Iaria’s Italian Restaurant radiates old-school, nostalgic charm, with red-checkered tablecloths and walls filled with vintage family photographs. Diners can’t stop raving about the world-famous signature meatballs, and it’s easy to see why famous athletes have happily signed the restaurant’s wall of fame.
The portions here are massive and packed with value, always paired with either homemade minestrone or a crisp garden salad.
Because this place is such a legend, it draws big crowds. The dining room can feel crowded and lively. Tables are close together, which sometimes sacrifices a bit of privacy.
The pasta also isn’t perfectly consistent when the kitchen is slammed during peak hours.

I ate dinner here one night after a long time wandering downtown. It’s got an old-fashioned ambience and friendly staff, and I was able to sit down right away at the bar even without reservations. I got the spaghetti and meatballs, which seems to be a well-regarded dish here. It was delicious and the meatballs had an interesting flavor I loved but couldn’t quite place. It was quite filling too. It’s cool to see such places are still around. I’d definitely visit again someday.

My husband is from New York and we’ve been looking for a great local Italian spot. We finally found it. Highly recommend the mussels in white wine, fried mozzarella (fav), eggplant Parmesan and the grouper picatta.. We are fasting for lent and the eggplant Parmesan tasted like crispy meat. It was surprisingly better than I thought it’d be. Also, the service was excellent. They were very attentive!! 10/10

That said, the luxurious ambiance and premium ingredients come with a higher price point that might not suit a casual weeknight outing. Plus, their strict dinner-only schedule rules them out if you’re craving a midday pasta fix.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. We sat at the bar and the ambiance was great. The bartender was super nice and the cocktails were fantastic. The scallops and risotto were out of the park, and the mushroom ragu was incredible as well. We had the oysters for an appetizer l, and they were very good, not small like some other reviewers experienced. I would have taken a picture but we ate them up too fast!

Amazing Italian food & wonderful service! I brought my friend here for her birthday and we both loved everything we tried. The manager made a point to come over and check in on us which we felt was so intentional and lovely. Perched on the lively stretch of Massachusetts Avenue, Rosemary & Olive Italian Restaurant is an upscale spot that celebrates generational home cooking.
What I love is that they don’t lean on trendy fusion to hide classic flavors. The menu focuses on elevated, authentic dishes like the stunning Linguini Tutto Mare and house-made short rib ravioli.
The space is obviously designed to make memories. They even offer dedicated event hosting that works beautifully for milestone celebrations or corporate gatherings.
The staff is attentive without being overbearing, keeping glasses full and making sure every craving is taken care of.
As you might expect from such a prime downtown location, prices are on the higher side. You’ll also need to plan ahead, since the doors don’t open until five o’clock every day.

The Carpaccio is outstanding, have tried it at many restaurants and this is the best yet! Calamari was perfectly prepared and very nice. The beet salad was a terrific different experience and nicely done. Others at the table enjoyed chicken and veal piccata and all were very satisfied with their choices. The meatballs are of the highest quality and very flavorful. Pasta was perfect. Service was quite good. This restaurant is a must try if you enjoy Italian cuisine.

Such a cute restaurant, I loved the decor!!! The food was SO GOOD and the service was amazing. My favorite was the beet salad. The portion size of the pasta was perfect! I got the linguine tutto mare and the seafood was delicious. Will definitely be returning next time I’m in town!
