Address: 7050 Coffman Rd
Contact: +1 317-676-1095
Hours: Monday-Friday: 6 am–6 pm, Saturday-Sunday: Closed
The Weston School really stands out because of its dedicated pre-kindergarten program that combines creative play with solid academics. This setup gives kids a fantastic launchpad for success before they hit elementary school.
I was chatting with a neighbor whose daughter goes here, and she completely raved about the daily updates on the school app. It’s so nice to get photos and know exactly what your little one is learning.
They even accept Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) vouchers for families in need of tuition assistance.
However, it is worth noting that they are completely closed on weekends. This strict weekday schedule can be tough if you work non-traditional hours.
Still, their use a specific assessment tool to track skills such as early reading and logic makes it a top choice for many parents.
The staff at this location are very nice and polite. My daughter has been learning she does lots of activities. I also receive daily photos of her enjoying her time there and I love the way I can see what she os doing it gives me a peace of mind knowing my daughter is an good hands thanks you guys keep up the good work.

I highly recommend The Weston School. My nieces and nephew attend this school, and each visit is met with a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the front desk staff. I would also like to give a special shout-out to Ms. Justice, who is an exceptional teacher. Her professionalism, dedication, and genuine care for her students truly make a positive impac

2. Meridian Hills Cooperative Nursery School & Kindergarten

Address: 7171 N Pennsylvania St

Hours: Flexible
Meridian Hills offers a deeply cooperative environment where parents actually help out in the classroom. This hands-on approach creates a very tight-knit community for both the kids and the adults.
This kindergarten places a huge emphasis on outdoor play and nature exploration. Kids get outside in almost any weather to build resilience and burn off energy.
It’s wonderful to see them interacting so freely with nature. I also love that children get to learn and grow at their own unique pace.
The main drawback is the mandatory parent participation required during school hours. This is honestly quite difficult for dual-income households with rigid work schedules.
Raspberry picking, creek stomping, feeding the class guinea pig, making play dough, and exploring sensory tables – this is what has filled our days at Meridian HIlls Cooperative Nursery School, and that was just the first two weeks! My daughter is a Robin (four year old) and she and I have both had a wonderful experience at the school. There are three teachers and they are three of the best teachers I have met. They are experienced, love children, and value the power of play.

This school has been a valued child and parent school experience for nearly 60 years. Housed in the same location since 1960, there is a long-standing tradition of professionally trained teachers providing developmentally appropriate play-based academics in an enriching environment. In daily classroom instruction, children are taught how to self-regulate and manage conflict resolution both in the classroom and on the playground. The school is managed in a team approach with parents and staff working together to offer comprehensive parent education.

3. La Petite Academy

Website: https://www.lapetite.com/
Address: 3824 S. Emerson Ave
Contact: 855-945-3048
Hours: Monday-Friday: 6:30 am – 6:00 pm
La Petite Academy shines by offering a specialized junior kindergarten program alongside amazing live-streaming video access for parents.
You can literally watch your child learn and play throughout the day using their secure app. This feature alone provides incredible peace of mind for nervous parents.
Their curriculum focuses on building those critical early skills right before elementary school starts. You can even sign your child up for cool electives like Spanish or advanced math.
Just keep in mind that their specialized enrichment programs cost extra. That added fee can quickly bump up your monthly bill.
Luckily, they accept financial aid vouchers to help offset the cost of care.
Also, if you stick to the base program, it remains a very solid and secure option.
I love La Petitie! I appreciate all the teachers and how they care for my child. I never have to worry and they communicate effectively. They always have fun learning activities for the children to do everyday. The Director Ms. Lymari is the best she is always planning events that involve including family. I like how she gave all the kids entering kindergarten a book bag with supplies in them. Always going above and beyond. I’m happy my child goes here and is growing and learning so much!

La Petite Academy has been such a wonderful place for our family! The teachers are incredibly hands-on and friendly, and they create such an encouraging, welcoming environment every day. Our toddler is truly thriving here and developing key skills, growing more confident, and making new friends. We feel so grateful for the care and attention the staff provides. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a supportive, nurturing learning community!

Address: 6102 Boy Scout Rd
Contact: 317-419-0227, [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Friday 8:30 am – 1:30 pm
The Nature School of Central Indiana stands out as a tuition-free public charter school that fully embraces outdoor immersion. They wonderfully combine established Montessori and Waldorf teaching methods right into their daily activities.
I recently toured this campus while helping my sister look at schools, and the amount of time kids spend learning outdoors is truly impressive. It’s not easy to find such a specialized, nature-focused curriculum that’s also financially accessible.
They even offer a continuous track through eighth grade.
That said, their Friday dismissal is early at 1:30 PM. This schedule can definitely complicate things for working parents who need full-day coverage.
However, the unique educational style is absolutely fantastic if you can manage the hours.
5. The Academy for Young Achievers

The Academy for Young Achievers practically guarantees your child will read at a kindergarten or first-grade level by graduation.
They use a really smart hybrid of creative curriculum, Montessori methods, and early science activities. It’s a highly structured yet fun learning environment.
They also make life incredibly easy for parents by providing all home-cooked meals and even free diapers for younger siblings. They even provide daily Spanish lessons and door-to-door transportation for older kids.
The massive indoor gym is also a huge plus for burning off energy during snowy Indiana winters.
The facility is open only during standard weekday hours, though. You will not find any weekend care or late-night options here.
#Pre-kEinstiens . I recently enrolled my daughter in this school, and so far, I’m really impressed. The environment is welcoming, the teachers are dedicated, and the curriculum seems well-structured to support both academic and personal growth. The school fosters a strong sense of community, and I love that they emphasize not just learning but also creativity and character development. It truly feels like a great fit for my daughter to grow, learn, and thrive!
