I was chatting with a neighbor whose daughter goes here, and she completely raved about the daily updates on the school app. It’s so nice to get photos and know exactly what your little one is learning.
They even accept Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) vouchers for families in need of tuition assistance.
However, it is worth noting that they are completely closed on weekends. This strict weekday schedule can be tough if you work non-traditional hours.
Still, their use a specific assessment tool to track skills such as early reading and logic makes it a top choice for many parents.
The staff at this location are very nice and polite. My daughter has been learning she does lots of activities. This kindergarten places a huge emphasis on outdoor play and nature exploration. Kids get outside in almost any weather to build resilience and burn off energy.
It’s wonderful to see them interacting so freely with nature. I also love that children get to learn and grow at their own unique pace.
The main drawback is the mandatory parent participation required during school hours. This is honestly quite difficult for dual-income households with rigid work schedules.
Raspberry picking, creek stomping, feeding the class guinea pig, making play dough, and exploring sensory tables – this is what has filled our days at Meridian HIlls Cooperative Nursery School, and that was just the first two weeks! My daughter is a Robin (four year old) and she and I have both had a wonderful experience at the school. There are three teachers and they are three of the best teachers I have met. They are experienced, love children, and value the power of play.

Just keep in mind that their specialized enrichment programs cost extra. That added fee can quickly bump up your monthly bill.
Luckily, they accept financial aid vouchers to help offset the cost of care.
Also, if you stick to the base program, it remains a very solid and secure option.

I recently toured this campus while helping my sister look at schools, and the amount of time kids spend learning outdoors is truly impressive. It’s not easy to find such a specialized, nature-focused curriculum that’s also financially accessible.
They even offer a continuous track through eighth grade.
That said, their Friday dismissal is early at 1:30 PM. This schedule can definitely complicate things for working parents who need full-day coverage.
However, the unique educational style is absolutely fantastic if you can manage the hours.

The massive indoor gym is also a huge plus for burning off energy during snowy Indiana winters.
The facility is open only during standard weekday hours, though. You will not find any weekend care or late-night options here.
