Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
Facing an upcoming eye procedure can feel pretty nerve-racking, so finding a clinic that’s built specifically for modern eye care can make a huge difference. Eye Surgeons of Indiana seems to focus heavily on creating that sense of confidence.
They operate their own dedicated surgical suites, and their medical team brings more than 250 years of combined experience.
Their complimentary door-to-door transportation on surgery day really stood out to us. We spoke with a patient who used the service, and she said it was incredibly comforting not having to worry about driving home after her procedure.
Their clinical complication rates are also reported to be below the national average, which is reassuring if safety is at the top of your priority list.
The main downside, though, is scheduling flexibility. They’re closed on Saturdays and Sundays, so you may need to take time off work to fit in appointments.
On the plus side, their insurance-friendly billing process helps reduce paperwork headaches so you can focus entirely on your recovery.
I’ve had both Cataract surgery and treatment for wet macular degeneration at Eye Surgeons of Indiana. The doctors are excellent and very personable. The staff is all quick, efficient and very friendly. The whole process for both treatments is fast and organized. I am very glad they are where I was recommended by my ophthalmologist to go!

From the minute I walked in and was greeted with a friendly smile to the assistants and doctors, the entire experience was fantastic! There was a long wait. BUT, this is a specialty office, so I expected that. Everyone was friendly, courteous, professional, and helpful. Doctor explained everything very well until I completely understood. Just a fantastic experience! If you need an ophthalmologist, go to Eye Surgeons of Indiana.
2. Eye Specialists of Indiana

Restoring your vision after developing cataracts requires a team you can truly rely on. Founded in 1987, Eye Specialists of Indiana is the state’s first and longest-standing dedicated cataract referral center, which says a lot about their experience in this field.
Leading the charge is Dr. Walton, the primary surgeon. He has successfully performed over 100,000 cataract procedures.
They also specialize in no-stitch cataract extraction. It’s a modern technique that helps speed up recovery and makes the healing process a bit smoother for many patients.
One downside to keep in mind is the significant paperwork required before your first visit, as you must download and complete comprehensive registration forms in advance.
Their services are also limited to adult eye conditions, so families with younger patients will need to look elsewhere for pediatric care.
That said, they do have a dedicated, full-time insurance staff who help patients navigate coverage and minimize out-of-pocket confusion.
Very thorough and timely. I was treated as if I was walking into someone’s home rather than an office. Everyone’s friendly and helpful And seemed concerned about my experience. By the way, I thought the artwork was Fabulous! I loved it. Follow up has been great And shows a real concern for the success of my surgery. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone considering cataract surgery.

From my first contact with them, my impression was that everyone was very knowledgeable, and everyone was extremely nice and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable, and knew exactly what was going on from one station to the next. The surgery went well, I had several follow up calls and very explicit instructions on what to do post surgery. Transportation to and from was also available, which was very convenient for me. I would definitely recommend them to friends, family and people I don’t even know.

Finding one eye care practice that handles both routine checkups and complex issues can save busy families a lot of time. Clearview Eye Care covers both ends of the spectrum well.
Plus, their long history, which dates back to 1965, adds a reassuring sense of stability.
One standout feature is their focus on advanced treatments for chronic dry eye.
When one of our researchers visited for ongoing symptoms, the doctor carefully explained amniotic membrane therapy using a cryopreserved contact lens. That level of patience made her feel heard rather than rushed.
They even offer an in-house medical spa, giving the clinic a slightly more holistic feel than many traditional practices.
Just keep in mind that their optical shops and clinics operate strictly on standard weekday schedules, which can be restrictive if you work full-time.
Returning patients must also update health history forms if more than a year has passed.
On the bright side, their broad insurance network makes care more accessible.
This practice is an excellent place to be seen for your ophthalmology needs. All staff is very patient and thorough. The ophthalmologist takes time to explain in terms one can understand, and answers all questions.

They also offer customized Refractive Lens Exchange for older patients and medical Botox treatments for eyelid spasms, expanding their range beyond standard eye clinics.
Plus, their secure online portal simplifies record management and financing for elective procedures.
That said, their early Friday closures may limit end-of-week appointments.
I highly recommend Dr. Colon. He is an excellent ophthalmologist with extensive knowledge and experience. He is friendly, polite and a great communicator. I was well informed about my recent exam and he was helpful in explaining my vision options. Check in at the facility was professional and well coordinated. Thank you for your great service.

I have no issues with Whitson Vision. This is my first experience with an ophthalmologist so I have no visits with other ophthalmologists with which to compare it. I felt Dr. Grove and staff were friendly and efficient. There was a slight paperwork snag but it happens. All told, it was a good experience.

On the plus side, bilingual staff improve communication for many patients, and discounts on second pairs of glasses can help families save money.
I am grateful to Dr. Hopen and his team for the exceptional care they provide to my sister. A special thanks to Erin for going above and beyond in providing outstanding care and support during our visit this past week, and to Dana for keeping everything running smoothly while brightening the experience with her cheerful smile. Their genuine care and kindness truly make a difference. Dr. Hopen’s expertise, compassion, and excellent bedside manner, combined with his outstanding glaucoma care, are truly remarkable. I highly recommend Dr. Hopen to anyone seeking a highly skilled ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma treatment!

I went to my first visit at Abrams and it was lovely! I was greeted by a very pleasant receptionist and my wait time was minimal…maybe 10 minutes at most! The ophthalmologist tech was super nice as was my Doctor. I gotta say that everyone I interacted with couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful! I will definitely go back and would recommend Abrams to anyone looking for an eye doctor!!!!!
