These 5 Facilities Keep Stuff Safe at the Best Self-Storage in Indianapolis

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Service Range – We looked for facilities offering a diverse mix of unit sizes and specialized features, such as climate control. This ensures that whether you have a few boxes or a whole house, there is a configuration that fits.

Pricing & Packages – Our team evaluated the transparency of monthly rates and the availability of promotional discounts. We prioritized companies that offer flexible lease terms without forcing long-term commitments.

Specialist Approach – Security is paramount, so we checked for advanced access systems and robust pest control measures. We also considered the quality of customer support and how well they manage environmental factors.

Location & Accessibility – We selected spots that are easy to reach from downtown, the suburbs, or major highways. It was also important to find facilities that offer extended or 24/7 access hours for your convenience.

Staff Credentials – A great facility needs a great team, so we looked for on-site managers with high customer service ratings. Positive feedback from the local community played a major role in our final selection.

Space runs out faster than expected. It often happens during a move or while managing a growing home business. What starts as a temporary squeeze can quickly turn into daily frustration.

That is where the right storage solution comes in. The best self-storage options in Indianapolis act as a reliable extension of your home or workspace. You get flexibility without stretching your budget.

The difference comes down to the details: consistent security, convenient access, and pricing that still makes sense over time.

To simplify your search, I reviewed local facilities that stand out for safety, accessibility, and overall value. This way, you can clear the clutter with confidence and take back your space.

Hours: Wednesday & Sunday 8 AM–9 PM; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday–Saturday 9 AM–5:30 PM

If you’re looking for a facility that treats your vintage furniture with the same respect you do, Store Space Self Storage in Madison Avenue is a top contender.

Their “Storage That Cares” philosophy shows in their drive-in loading bays that protect you from Indy’s snowy winters.

I actually used their touchless rental system recently, and it was a breeze to get an access code without even stepping into an office.

They even offer an AI-powered app for gate access, which feels incredibly futuristic compared to old-school padlocks.

While they do require a monthly insurance fee if you aren’t covered elsewhere, the 10% military discount is a fantastic touch for our local veterans.

Pros

  • Protection from Indy weather
  • Top-notch security features
  • Military and veteran discounts
  • Flexible vehicle storage

Cons

  • Mandatory insurance fees
  • Limited in-person office hours
  • Price increases over time

“Office Staff was So Helpful in My Time of Need”

Office staff was so helpful in my time off. Hershey was very helpful and super Knowledgeable. I had no clue about storage stuff as I have never had to rent one before. She was able to help me get the right size unit to fit my needs. Thanks Hershey!!!

Address: 3380 N Post Rd

Contact: (317) 708-4072

Hours: Monday–Friday 9:30 AM–6 PM; Saturday 9 AM–5:30 PM; Sunday Closed

Convenience is the name of the game here, as Extra Space Storage has locations scattered across the area, from the airport to near Butler University.

Their N Post Rd facility is a standout thanks to Bluetooth-enabled keyless entry, so no more digging for a scrap of paper with a gate code. It’s a great fit for business owners who need a professional, well-lit environment for inventory or expensive equipment.

I also love their focus on sustainability. Their use of solar power makes them feel like a more modern choice for the eco-conscious renter.

Just keep an eye on your bill after the first few months. Those introductory rates tend to climb fairly quickly once the initial phase ends.

Pros

  • Tons of locations around Indy
  • High-tech security & access
  • Specialized storage options
  • Flexible access hours

Cons

  • Frequent price hikes
  • Mandatory fees and insurance
  • Mixed maintenance reports

Address: 1102 E 52nd St

Contact: (317) 466-1707

Hours: Open 24/hours

For those who live in the heart of Broad Ripple, Infinite Self Storage – Broad Ripple  near the Indianapolis Art Center is a local staple.

The biggest draw is definitely the true 24/7 access. It’s perfect if you’re a night owl or just have a non-traditional work schedule.

I also appreciate that they don’t hit you with a security deposit upfront. Combine that with the help of some of the top movers in Indianapolis, and your move can go a lot smoother.

Their month-to-month flexibility is also great. It’s ideal for students who only need a spot for a few weeks between semesters.

That said, some neighbors have mentioned that getting a hold of management for cancellations can take a bit of persistence. I highly recommend planning your move-out early.

Pros

  • Round-the-clock 24/7 access
  • No security deposit required
  • Zero-fee unit transfers
  • Month-to-month flexibility

Cons

  • Support and cancellation delays
  • Mandatory protection plans
  • Mixed security feedback

4. U-Stor Self Storage Indianapolis, IN

Website: https://u-stor.com/

Address: 5055 W. 106th St.

Contact: (317) 873-9600

Hours: Monday-Friday 10 AM–6 PM (closed 1-2 PM); Saturday 9 AM–5 PM (closed 12-1 PM); Sunday Closed

Security buffs will likely gravitate toward this facility because it installs an individual alarm on every unit door. It provides a massive sense of relief, knowing that if anyone messes with your lock, a siren will wail.

I also love that they provide a 6-month price guarantee. This prevents those annoying “surprise” rate hikes that are so common in the industry.

The solid brick construction also feels much sturdier than the thin metal walls you see at most places, which is a plus when Indiana storms roll through.

Some of the buildings are a bit older, but U-Stor has an on-site manager who actually lives on the property. It adds a layer of human oversight that’s hard to beat.

Pros

  • Individual unit alarms
  • True 24/7 access at no cost
  • Solid brick & drive-up design
  • 6-month price guarantee

Cons

  • Some buildings are old

5. Public Storage

Website: https://www.publicstorage.com/self-storage-in-indianapolis

Address: 5151 W Pike Plaza Rd

Contact: (317) 643-5421

Hours: Monday-Sunday 6 AM–9 PM

Public Storage provides a convenience that’s hard to ignore.

Their Pike Plaza location offers a “contactless” experience, allowing you to complete the entire lease online in under 10 minutes.

They also have a mobile app that makes accessing the units a lot easier. It acts as a digital key for the gates and elevators, so you don’t have to fumble with physical keys while carrying boxes.

They often run aggressive “first month for $1” deals, which are great for anyone on a tight budget during a move.

Just be prepared to buy their specific cylinder locks at signup. They are mandatory and non-refundable.

Also, keep in mind that the gate hours aren’t 24/7 like some of the local competitors.

Pros

  • Dominant local density
  • Contactless eRental & mobile access
  • Diverse climate-controlled units
  • Low introductory rates

Cons

  • Aggressive rent escalation
  • Mandatory lock & insurance fees
  • Limited access hours
  • Inconsistent maintenance at older sites
