We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Cultural and Technical Expertise: We prioritized planners who master complex traditions and use modern design tools like 3D modeling. This ensures they can handle diverse ceremonies while giving you a clear visual of your event.

Logistical Precision and Timelines: We looked for professionals who excel at creating minute-by-minute schedules and managing vendor contracts. A smooth wedding relies on a planner who can architect a flawless flow behind the scenes.

Aesthetic and Floral Integration: We evaluated teams that offer in-house design or deep floral knowledge to ensure a cohesive visual narrative. This prevents any disconnect between your planning vision and the actual physical decor.

Crisis Management and Calmness: We checked for a proven ability to solve last-minute emergencies with unshakeable poise and grace. You deserve a lead planner who handles the hiccups so you can stay fully present.

Planning a wedding in Indy can feel like a whirlwind of venue tours, vendor calls, and cake tastings, and it gets overwhelming fast.

Over the past few months, I have talked with local couples and attended industry showcases to see which coordinators people genuinely recommend.

That research made one thing clear: the right wedding event planner is a lifesaver, especially for busy professionals and out-of-state couples trying to juggle it all from afar.

What I love about Indianapolis planners is how different their styles can be. Some lean into tech, like 3D venue walkthroughs and streamlined planning tools.

Others focus on creating a quieter, more intentional experience that still feels effortless.

In this guide, I am sharing my top picks for the pros who keep the process calm and the celebration unforgettable.

How much does a real estate lawyer cost in Indianapolis?

In Indianapolis, hiring a wedding planner typically accounts for about 7% of your total budget, which averages between $4,000 and $5,000 for most couples. Couples looking to hand off the final details typically spend between $800 and $3,500 for month-of coordination. For those wanting a pro to lead the way from start to finish, full-service planning generally starts around $2,000 but can climb above $8,000 for luxury events. Partial planning is a popular middle ground, often landing between $2,500 and $10,000 depending on the level of hands-on help you require.

If you want to take a lot of the guesswork out of wedding planning, working with a team that can map everything out visually makes all the difference for many couples.

Being able to virtually walk through your venue before the big day makes decisions feel clearer and cuts down on last-minute stress. That is where Blue Llama Events really shines, especially for couples planning layered, multicultural celebrations.

Jean Rivers, the owner and lead planner here, has a reputation for being a calm, proactive advocate for her couples throughout the design process.

They are known for blending traditions like Indian fusion or Persian ceremonies into one cohesive, well-paced event.

I chatted with a bride who hosted a huge three-day Hindu wedding, and she said Jean was a total lifesaver when it came to vendor coordination.

Just know their premium services start around $3,275 for full planning, and they only book one event per day, so you will want to reach out early.

Pros

  • Expert cultural fusion
  • 3D virtual walkthroughs
  • Custom 3D printed decor
  • Elite emergency management

Cons

  • High premium investment
  • Limited daily availability
  • Extra costs for custom tech

2. Creating Joyful Moments

Address: 6900 Gray Rd

Hours: Monday – Friday: 9 AM–5 PM

Creating Joyful Moments is a great fit if you want your wedding to look cohesive from the first invite to the final tablescape. They pair full-service planning with in-house floral design, so the visuals are not an afterthought.

Every centerpiece, linen, and layout choice is tied back to the story you want your day to tell, which makes everything feel intentional and polished.

They also offer four collections, so you can choose the level of support that matches where you are in the process.

I have seen their work in non-traditional venues, and they are especially strong with home-based weddings where logistics can get tricky. However,  their design process follows a set pipeline, which may feel a little structured if you prefer to plan on the fly.

That said, their boutique style also means they take on only a limited number of events each year, so dates can fill quickly.

Pros

  • In-house floral expertise
  • Boutique personal service
  • Four tailored service tiers
  • Proactive day-of management

Cons

  • Limited yearly bookings
  • Structured design pipeline
  • Premium boutique pricing

CJM made wedding planning so much easier!
CJM made wedding planning so much easier!  Chloe started working with me about a year out from our wedding. She made everything smooth and had all of the right questions at the right time. As we approached the wedding date she worked with all of the vendor so the day would come together perfectly. CJM was one of the best decisions I made wedding planning and would recommend Chloe to everyone!

Courtney and her team were the DREAM TEAM!!

Courtney and her team were the DREAM TEAM!!  They seriously made the day so memorable.  They were prepared for anything that came their way and it showed from the first day I met with Courtney!  I never had any doubts or worries about how things would go.  Courtney and her team are worth every penny and absolutely loved working with her!!

3. Jessica Dum Wedding Coordination

For those with the vision but want someone to run the whole day with total precision, a coordination team that plans ahead is the way to go.

They begin months before your wedding to review contracts, confirm vendor details, and build a detailed timeline so nothing gets missed and everyone knows exactly where to be.

That is the sweet spot for Jessica Dum Wedding Coordination led by Jessica Mattingly. Their strength is logistics, especially those minute-by-minute schedules that keep the day moving smoothly without feeling rushed.

A local photographer told me Jessica’s timelines are the most vendor-friendly he works with, showing that she values the logistics as much as the aesthetics

However, if you are looking for full-scale design direction or custom floral styling, you may want to pair them with a separate designer since their focus stays on execution and flow.

On another note, because their lead planners are in high demand, popular Saturday dates tend to go quickly, so it helps to reach out as soon as you have a date in mind.

Pros

  • Early-start management
  • Technical timeline experts
  • Proactive conflict resolution
  • Professional vendor audits

Cons

  • Limited aesthetic design scope
  • High demand for lead staff
  • Strict operational boundaries

I cannot recommend Jessica enough. She was the best month of/day of wedding coordinator. My wedding week wish was that my parents and I would be relaxed and enjoy the moment. Jessica made that happen! She was extremely detail oriented, easy to talk to and get along with, corralled our rambunctious wedding party and family for the rehearsal and all day of events. The evening was truly perfect and ran smoothly because of her efforts!

4. Royal Weddings Co.

Address: 1602 S East St
Contacts: Via website
Hours: Available 24 hours

Planning a wedding gets complicated fast when you are coordinating multiple vendors, timelines, and style decisions all at once. If you want fewer moving parts, choose a team that handles most production in-house and keeps everything organized.

With Royal Weddings Co., you are getting more than coordination. They create the design concepts, produce the decor, and can also support beauty needs with an in-house hair and makeup team.

This full-service model works best for large-scale weddings where you need a bigger crew and someone watching the technical details closely.

Couples also mention how easy it is to reach them around the clock, which is great for long-distance planning.

The main tradeoff is budget, since their minimums are typically higher. For a simple micro wedding, it may feel like more than you need.

Pros

  • Unified in-house production
  • Large-scale event mastery
  • 24/7 client accessibility
  • Dedicated on-site execution

Cons

  • High minimum investment
  • Less focus on micro-weddings
  • Limited pricing transparency

Allison executed the wedding of our dreams

Allison executed the wedding of our dreams.  She worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and on the day of.  Allison took the time to get to know me and helped create the vision for a beautiful day.  I always felt like we were her only clients, even though I know she was incredibly busy.  She stepped in to take control when things got out of control on the day of.  She and her team even took photos for the photo website we set up for the day of.

Super professional and great at what they do!

Wedding planning feels a lot better when the focus is on your story, not a checklist of traditions. The vibe stays elevated and sophisticated, but guests still feel comfortable and relaxed instead of walking into something that feels stiff.

Christina Burton Babb is the founder and lead designer here, and she is known for her calm presence, especially in those high-pressure moments right before the ceremony. This balance is a big part of what Christina Burton Events does best.

Their streamlined design process also helps you cut through the Pinterest overload and settle on a timeless plan that fits you.

I also love how much attention they give to guest experience, such as thoughtful seating layouts and personalized touches that make people feel included.

Availability is the main thing to consider, though, since they take only a few full-service clients each year, and fall weekends go fast. Their style leans clean and romantic, so it may not match a bold, maximalist vision.

Pros

  • Calm leadership style
  • Intentional personal design
  • High guest experience focus
  • Strong local vendor rapport

Cons

  • Limited yearly availability
  • Niche understated aesthetic
  • Premium service price point
