You’ll be free-falling from 13,500 ft in the sky from a Cessna 208, an aircraft with a fast climb. It can accommodate up to 17 skydivers, perfect for group activities.
This spot is definitely one of the closest to Indianapolis, as it’s just an hour from downtown. There’s no need to camp or stay at a hotel if you’re planning to take skydiving lessons!

The 4-hour drive from Indianapolis to reach Skydive Midwest is worth every minute, as you can jump from a plane 14,500 ft up in the air. This is one of the most gorgeous skydives because you can see the skylines of Milwaukee and Chicago.
This wild sport can become a group activity since the aircraft, a Cessna 182 and a Twin Otter, can fit up to 23 jumpers at once. The packages are fairly priced, too, since the solo jumps won’t reach over $300.
Families and friends can experience the thrill together with the group rates, with a minimum of 3 persons. The best part of it all? This skydiving spot is open seven days a week and welcomes walk-ins!

It’s okay to want the thrill, but if you aren’t ready yet to jump off a plane, iFLY Indoor Skydiving is your best bet. The closest to Indianapolis is in Liberty Township, Cincinnati, only taking 2 hours or so on the road.
Fly in a wind tunnel instead of the skies, a good way to start your skydiving experience because it won’t be as nerve-racking as the real thing, but it will simulate freefall in a controlled environment.
It’s more accessible for kids and adults, since a child aged 3 can join in. If you’re searching for a party idea that your guests will NEVER EVER forget, indoor skydiving is a smart move, and it already includes food and drinks!

If you’re searching for a skydiving spot near Indianapolis that has been in business for a long time, Skydive Greene County is a must-visit. It’s been going strong since 1961 (that’s over 60 years!), offering tandem and solo skydiving.
You’ll be soaring at an altitude of about 10,000 to 13,500 ft from a Westwind airplane, which is a fast one, BTW. The landing space is massive, totalling about 15 acres if you combine the main and secondary areas.
What seals the deal is the camping area. You can bring your tent or RV and park just beside the packing hangar, which features shower stalls for skydivers who want to skip the drive every visit—mostly ideal for student skydivers with multiple lessons.

If you want to explore after jumping from a plane, this is one of the best outdoor skydiving spots near Indianapolis, considering it’s close to downtown Cincinnati (just a 45-minute drive).
It uses a Cessna 182 with a typical skydiving height of 10,000 to 10,500 ft. The various packages accommodate every thrillseeker’s needs, with tandem skydiving starting at $269.

Start Skydiving is anything but average. The drop zone and the facilities are clean and well-maintained, and it isn’t just the sky that’s actually nice to look at. The location is only minutes away from restaurants for post-skydive munchies.
It uses Cessna 206 Caravans, has a 23,000 sq ft hangar space, and over 600 acres of soft landing spaces. AFF and tandem skydiving are solid, overall, as there are different kinds of pricing packages and discounts to save some bucks.
And this isn’t just for skydivers, BTW. Under-18s (but must be over 12 years old) can ride the passenger seat of the plane and watch the adults soar in the sky. Indoor activities are available for companions waiting on the ground, like wall climbing.

AerOhio Skydiving has been around for over three decades, but it started as the Akron Skydivers Club in the 1950s. It’s open year-round and has USPA-certified instructors and trainers with a track record of thousands of jumps!
Extreme sport enthusiasts will love the views from the top, as you’ll be soaring high above the skyline of the Ohio countryside. You’ll be jumping off the Super Otter aircraft, which is large enough to hold up to 24 people—so bring your friends!
But what makes this one of the best skydiving spots? It offers wingsuit jumping for daredevils who prefer gliding in the air using “wings,” like a flying squirrel!
The facility has all the usual conveniences for skydivers, as it’s equipped with complimentary WiFi, vending machines, and showers. Post-skydiving celebrations are only minutes away, since the drop zone is close to downtown Ashland.

The Cleveland Skydiving Center is a bit far from Indianapolis, but believe us when we say it’s worth the drive. Its aircraft will take you as high as 13,500 ft!
It has a modern, clean, and well-maintained drop zone equipped with multi-stall bathrooms and showers. And this destination has a community vibe, especially for experienced skydivers, since weekend nights are for bonfires, food, and good times.
Spectators are encouraged to come with, since there’s an area on the drop zone to watch the skydivers ride the wind. And while the skydivers are on the ground and feeling a little nervous, the adorableness of their dogs can make it go away!

Skydive Tecumseh

This one’s a skydiving destination that’s a bit of a drive from Indianapolis, but to leap into the clouds, hours spent on the road are fine, no? Skydive Tecumseh is in Michigan, about 4 to 5 hours of driving, depending on your route and traffic.
It isn’t actually in Tecumseh, as they moved to the Napoleon Airport in Jackson. If you’re used to skydiving near Indianapolis, this one will hit the mark as it offers a different view than usual, because from 14,000 ft in the sky, the ground will be a totally different state.
The planes, a Beechcraft King Air and a PAC 750XL, are super fast and can both accommodate up to 12 skydivers. Even first-time skydivers can go as high as 18,000 ft, but you can also go lower at 9,000 ft.
On the ground, there’s a picnic area for spectators and a camping spot for RVs and tents.
