Walking into this neighborhood favorite feels just like stepping into a busy Mexican family kitchen. The whole place is filled with the amazing smells of slow-simmered spices and good food.
La Parada is a true local gem because they skip the usual cookie-cutter approach. Instead, they serve massive and authentic platters of traditional Caldos, including a rich goat Birria and very tender beef tripe Menudo.
I actually had lunch here with my coworkers last week, and we completely finished their signature house salsa. The fresh cilantro and crisp onions on top really make a difference.

I had the greatest experience! I have celiac disease so I called ahead of time, I spoke with Taria. She was AMAZING, she’s the reason I stopped in today made me comfortable about eating out. When we arrived she served my table of 4. She accommodated for everyone at the table we had great drinks and food. Taria mentioned we could sign up and get free queso and chips, so we did that! Overall, we had super great service. My favorite was the Elote and the Strawberry bombshell drink!

Great experience
I ordered the carne asada and it was delicious! Great flavor, especially paired with their red hot sauce. The restaurant is cute and clearly family-run, which gives it a warm, welcoming vibe. We stopped in while craving Mexican food and were really glad we did. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the place was clean overall. The tables are a bit close together, so you can hear nearby conversations, but it didn’t take away from the great experience.

It’s always fresh, with just the right amount of lime
Every time we grab a bite here, we stick to the same tacos (the Baja shrimp are my favorite) and I always order the pineapple margarita. The staff is friendly and chatty—in a good way-but the main reason we keep coming back is the guacamole.
We’ve tried so many places, but we always end up comparing them to this one. It’s always fresh, with just the right amount of lime.

I almost never write reviews but this experience was fantastic! Everything from the food to service and conversations with the owners were truly valued.
This is without a doubt the best mexican or peruvian food you will get in Indianapolis and their ingredients and dedication back that claim up. Finding a place that has good ají de amarillo is hard anywhere not in NYC/LA and for it to be so prominent on the menu combined with their homemade bread is fantastic!!

The food was amazing and the customer service was top notch! You can tell the owner takes great pride in producing authentic, flavorful dishes. The atmosphere is bright and beautiful and welcoming. We had the fruit with chamoy for an appetizer…so fresh and flavorful…highly recommend. For our meals we had the tamales, tacos and torta. And the sangria was fresh and delicious!
