1. Actors Theatre of Indiana

Website: https://atistage.org/
Address: 510 3rd Ave SW D, Carmel
Contact: +13176697983
Hours: Flexible
Actors Theatre of Indiana is a standout for anyone who wants real, hands-on theatre experience. Their productions are consistently professional, and the educational programs are comprehensive.
Students I spoke with appreciated the direct mentorship they get from industry professionals. It gives them an invaluable perspective on the industry.
A friend of mine took their summer workshop and raved about how instructors treated everyone like equals, not just students.
The community engagement is another highlight. It offers aspiring performers a chance to build connections while honing their craft.
The only drawback is that they aren’t accredited as an acting school. If you’re looking for a formal degree or nationally recognized certification, you’ll need to explore other programs.
exceptionally friendly and helpful
Great talent on the part of all the actors and great music and choreography! Staff and volunteers are always exceptionally friendly and helpful.

accomplished actors
So as accomplished actors. Lovenly trashed Broadway plays. I recognized phantom at the opera, Les miserable, book of Morman, cats, and many more. Go see it. It’s fun.

2. International Talent Academy

Address: 1235 Central Park Dr E, Carmel

Hours: Always open
International Talent Academy is a great fit for anyone looking to develop both acting skills and personal branding at the same time.
They stand out for offering individualized mentorship and flexible learning options. This makes it easier for teens and career changers to prepare for real-world opportunities in entertainment.
I love that the curriculum focuses heavily on career development. They help students understand exactly what casting directors expect and how to land auditions.
The only downside is that the broad approach can feel a bit generalized. Actors seeking highly intensive classical training may find the program doesn’t go deep enough in a single discipline.
Enjoyed working with other kids
My daughter loves acting and performing on stage. She participated in couple of theatre plays with International Talent Academy and throughly enjoyed working with other kids. There is lot of learning opportunities and ways for parents to get involved. I recommend it for anyone looking to get into theatre and musicals.

She got to help determine what the play was about
My daughter has participated in two plays through International Talent Academy and loves it!! All the kids get plenty of speaking parts, regardless of their age. My daughter also loved that she got to help determine what the play was about, what character in the play she wanted to be, and what her characters name was. Great program that I would recommend for any kiddos interested in acting!

I found React Studio a fantastic starting point for performers of all ages. They create an inclusive environment and place heavy emphasis on confidence-building and skill development, helping beginners feel fully supported.
Classes are led by professional instructors with real-world experience, so students get practical insights alongside structured lessons.
One of the standout features is the frequent chance to perform in local productions. Applying classroom techniques in front of a live audience is an excellent way to strengthen skills, so I really love that they provide this experience to students.
I attended a recent community showcase and was struck by how contagious the performers’ enthusiasm was.
The only limitation is the curriculum itself. Those looking for highly advanced or specialized professional training may find the offerings a bit basic.
A loving, inclusive environment
We absolutely love React! It’s such a loving, inclusive environment! My daughter looked forward to every session and loved performing on stage. Staff are dedicated to building children up and instilling confidence. They meet children where they are at developmentally and take an individual approach to each child. So happy we found React!

Enjoy being around groups of people
YAT allowed my daughter to build her confidence while expressing herself through the form of art. Over the past semester, I’ve seen my daughter come out of her shell and enjoy being around groups of people. She really enjoyed making her own costume and being front and center on stage. The performance, was well executed. Every child had a decent amount of lines. I highly recommend this program for young actors.

Contact: (323) 207-8322
Hours: Flexible
Indy Actors Academy offers comprehensive classes for both youth and adults, with a strong focus on practical skills and performance readiness.
From my conversations with students, the academy shines in hands-on learning. Many love that classes use intensive scene work and improvisation to help students really engage with their craft.
Instructors also provide dedicated mentorship. They give structured guidance that makes skill development feel achievable.
I also love how active they are in the community. Students regularly participate in showcases and local events, which helps them gain exposure and build connections within the Indianapolis theatre scene.
That said, the curriculum is primarily geared toward foundational techniques and general skill-building. Advanced actors seeking professional-level masterclasses may find the pacing better suited for beginners.
discuss successful audition tips, industry trends
Jim is the only acting coach I trust in my region to deliver relevant, informative, and legitimate insight into the film industry. His experience speaks for itself and he is a working professional. Not only do we explore acting techniques and exercises, but we discuss successful audition tips, industry trends, and practical things in regards to how to move for camera among other things. I cannot recommend him enough to newbies or seasoned pros alike.

a superb teacher
I can’t express enough the amount of respect I have for Jim. He is a superb teacher and I love the directions he takes us to look at the craft a different way. I took some elements that I learned the first day to an audition and booked the part. It’s affordable, personable, and a great time. Highly recommend Indy Actors Academy

One of the institute’s biggest strengths is its ability to combine arts training with community enrichment, making it a vibrant space for young learners.
The only limitation is the focus on youth development. Classes and roles for adults are very limited, so those seeking professional industry training or career-focused programs will likely need to look elsewhere.
Have to gone on to pursue the arts and entertainment industry
My daughter was a performer from 1996-98. That’s how long this great work has been in existence and even before then. A wonderful learning experience not only in the performing arts but in life skills as well. Debra Asante is a remarkable and gifted woman. She cares about the kids, the community, and the culture. The Motown Revue was a smashing success. Many young people have to gone on to pursue the arts and entertainment industry. All students thrive under her outstanding tutelage.

An amazing place for me to grow my talent
I just wanted to take a min to say the Asante Children’s Theater has been an amazing place for me to grow my talent and get to know other individuals that love the arts just as much as me.
