1. The Cyrus Place – Unique Weddings Venue and Events Center

Website: https://thecyrusplaceeventcenter.com/
Address: 237 N. East St.
Contact: 317-721-4555
Hours: By Appointment Only
Walking into a building constructed in 1882 immediately sets a distinct mood. The Cyrus Place capitalizes on its historic architectural significance, complete with original stained glass windows adorning both the Grand Hall and Main Hall Ballroom.
This venue’s setup provides the highly convenient “under one roof” experience. For instance, they allow guests to transition seamlessly from a classic ceremony to the reception without needing to travel.
Moreover, you won’t have to share the hallways with strangers or worry about overlapping music from another event.
When I attended a colleague’s winter ceremony here last year, I noticed how having exclusive use of the entire facility kept the atmosphere intimate and entirely focused on their celebration.
However, navigating the historic layout requires some specific planning. In particular, the second floor is only accessible via stairs, which poses a significant hurdle for elderly attendees or anyone with mobility concerns.

Me and my husband picked the perfect venue for our wedding! Cyrus was amazing, making sure everything went smoothly and was absolutely perfect for us! I couldn’t have dreamed of a better venue!
This place is absolutely beautiful, the wood and old stained glass windows made the perfect photos. Everyone worked so smoothly together, making the perfect atmosphere for us.
If I could give them more stars I would. They cared so much about giving us the perfect day and they succeeded.
Thanks again for everything you did for us! You all are truly amazing!!

Sommer was such an incredible asset to the entire wedding planning process. She was incredibly responsive and kept us up to date and took care of us from our first tour of the venue all the way until cleanup. The venue is amazing and the photos do not do it justice. Cyrus’ craftsmanship throughout the entire building is immaculate. We truly dont have enough great things to say about this Venue. Thank you so much for having us!!

2. Ivory Foundry Weddings & Events

Website: https://www.ivoryfoundryevents.com/
Address: 2033 S Meridian St
Contact: [email protected]
Hours: Hours may vary
Streamlining the planning process is a major priority for many couples, and Ivory Foundry delivers a fully inclusive “one-stop” experience.
For starters, they handle everything from venue rental and catering to floral design and acting as your wedding planner.
Furthermore, booking them means securing a space that grants true all-day access. The midnight-to-midnight entry to the prep suites removes the frantic rushing usually associated with strict hourly rentals.
As for the visuals, the place features a striking industrial-modern aesthetic, with soaring ceilings and refined textures to create a beautiful urban setting.
And since they commit to a single-event exclusivity per day, the staff remains completely focused on your specific timeline.
The primary drawback involves their strict internal vendor requirements. To maintain their all-inclusive service, you’re required to use their internal partners for food, bar service, and florals. In short, you won’t be able to hire outside specialty vendors.
Customer Reviews
My husband and I chose the Ivory Foundry for our wedding and we could not have been happier! The venue was gorgeous, inside and out! You can not beat the convenience of having such a beautiful get ready suites, ceremony room, and reception hall all onsite. On top of that Beth and Rich were so great to work with. They were communicative, knowledgeable, and just so positive. I would tell anyone to consider The Ivory Foundry! BOOK IT!! Thank you to everyone at the Ivory Foundry that made our wedding the best day ever!!

3. INDUSTRY

Website: https://industry.828venues.com/
Address: 545 Kentucky Avenue
Contact: (317) 561-0028 / [email protected]
Hours: Monday to Sunday 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Securing enough time for elaborate decorations is a common challenge, but INDUSTRY solves that. They offer a rare 24-hour rental period, covering 10:00 AM on your event day until 10:00 AM the following morning.
Pair that generous timeline with a completely open vendor policy, and you gain total financial control over your catering, bar setup, and even your photo booth rental choices.
Furthermore, the 6,800-square-foot interior functions as a highly customizable blank canvas, featuring exposed brick walls and high ceilings that suit an industrial-chic vision.
They’re also pet-friendly, so your dog can comfortably walk down the aisle alongside your bridal party.
On the downside, there’s no outdoor space on the property. This place isn’t for you if you envisioned exchanging vows under the sun or hosting an open-air cocktail hour.

4. Laurel Hall

Website: http://laurel-hall.org/
Address: 5395 Emerson Way
Contact: (317) 275-3390 / [email protected]
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Finding privacy within the city limits feels nearly impossible until you drive through the gates of this exclusive six-acre secluded estate.
Built in 1916, Laurel Hall is a 36,000-square-foot mansion delivering immediate historic architectural grandeur. The ornate mantelpieces and rich wood detailing provide a built-in European castle aesthetic.
I recently toured the property to evaluate its spatial flow, and the seamless transition between the grand indoor dining rooms and the expansive outdoor terraces is genuinely impressive.
Moreover, renting the facility also supports a mission-driven cause. In particular, the operating fees directly fund educational scholarships through the Phi Kappa Psi Foundation.
Be prepared for some strict municipal regulations, however. Outdoor music must conclude strictly by 10:00 PM, and the historic nature of the building means there’s no elevator access.
Customer Reviews
My husband and I had the pleasure of being invited to a wedding at Laurel Hall. It was stunning! It felt cozy but open and just dripping in the old money feel (in a great way!). It’s beautiful inside and out and they have that venue set up perfectly for weddings and events. If you’re looking for a unique and beautiful place to say your forevers, consider Laurel Hall!
- Ashley Munson Google Review
Perfect venue for a wedding. The location is full of neat history, the architecture is beautiful, and the grounds outside are lovely. There is a very neat chapel upstairs that even provides for the feeling of being married in a church if that is important to you. One negative to keep in mind is because the building is so old, there is no elevator access to the third floor where the chapel is, so that could prove a challenge if you have guests attending in which climbing stairs is difficult.

5. Grand Hall at Historic Union Station

Website: http://www.downtownindianapolisweddings.com/
Address: 123 W Louisiana St.
Contact: (317) 236-7458 / [email protected]
Hours: Contact for business hours
Hosting a massive guest list requires a very specific type of building, and the Grand Hall solves the space issue with its massive event capacity that comfortably seats up to 700 attendees.
As a National Historic Landmark within America’s first Union Station, the room surrounds guests with grand Romanesque architecture, highlighted by a breathtaking glass barrel ceiling and massive stained-glass windows.
Because the hall is integrated directly into the Crowne Plaza hotel, it offers comprehensive all-in-one convenience for out-of-town relatives who need immediate overnight lodging.
Plus, there are on-site specialists who can manage the heavy lifting. They can take care of the room flip while your guests enjoy cocktails in the adjacent spaces.
However, the convenience comes with strict operational rules. You’re entirely locked into using their in-house catering team and their exclusive audio-visual partner, which eliminates your ability to shop around for lower food or lighting prices.
Customer Reviews
I recently photographed a wedding here and the staff were so great and accommodating. They were willing to work with other vendors, the food was amazing, and I hope to be back soon in their beautiful space! I highly recommend this venue! Thanks for being so great to work with.
- Gabriella Sutherland Google Review
I had an opportunity to stop in for a quick visit. The developers made a good effort to keep much of the historical content. Much of the original architecture is evident.
The track information and stairways to the tracks are still in place. Although, when the stairs turn at the first landing, they’re blocked off by a wall.
There’s placards stationed by items of interest explaining the use in its heyday.
