5 Best Muay Thai Gyms in Indianapolis That Feel Like Fight Camps

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Coaching Quality: We looked for instructors with real ring experience or certified teaching credentials. Good coaches make sure you learn proper technique safely.

Class Availability: A facility needs to offer times that actually fit a normal working schedule. We checked for early morning, lunch, and evening options.

Facility Vibe: The atmosphere has to be welcoming for beginners but tough enough for fighters. A positive community keeps you coming back to train.

Value for Money: We weighed the monthly costs against the disciplines offered. Getting access to multiple arts under one roof is a huge bonus.

Equipment and Gear: Having loaner gear is crucial for new students trying their first class. We also considered the overall cleanliness of the training mats.

Finding a good Muay Thai gym in Indianapolis can feel a bit overwhelming at first. You might want better cardio, self-defense skills, or maybe even the chance to step into the ring one day.

Either way, the gym you choose really shapes your experience. I remember being pretty unsure myself when I first started looking.

You’re hoping for coaches who actually teach, training partners who push you in a good way, and a schedule that doesn’t mess with your daily life.

I put together this guide to make things easier. These gyms are known for solid coaching and welcoming environments, no matter your experience level.

Website: https://krufit.com/muay-thai/

Address: 9824 North by Northeast Blvd, Fishers

Contact: [email protected] / 317-516-5939

Hours: No hours specified

KruFit Indy has that real-deal vibe because it’s run by a world champion who brings authentic Thai training straight to Indiana.

You’re not just learning from theory here; it’s coming from someone who’s actually lived and fought in Thailand, which makes the coaching feel a lot more grounded. At the same time, the gym still feels welcoming, ideal if you’re still trying out this combat sport.

I actually brought a friend along for a session once, and we were both pretty clueless at first. But the coaches in this Muay Thai gym were super patient with our messy footwork and broke everything down in a way that didn’t feel overwhelming.

BJJ classes are offered here, too, if you want to try grappling. Just keep in mind that it’s a pure combat sports space, so you won’t find treadmills or weights lying around, like the ones you see in the best gyms in Indianapolis.

Pros

  • Authentic instruction from a world champion
  • Highly inclusive and beginner-friendly community
  • Active in local youth sports development
  • Offers pure striking and grappling programs

Cons

  • No traditional cardio machines or weights

Coach Jamie makes everyone feel valued and appreciated

Kru Fit is by far one of the most welcoming gyms I’ve ever trained at. Coach Jamie makes everyone feel valued and appreciated, whether you fight competitively, want to learn self-defense, or just want a fun way to stay fit.

In addition to creating a great environment, Coach Jamie continues to be a student, constantly focusing on her own development as a martial artist, coach and business owner.

The level of training you receive at KruFit is second to none

I have been training at KruFit for over a year now. I dive over hour just to train with the unbelievable coaches and people that make up the KruFit family. The level of training you receive at KruFit is second to none. So if want level up your Muay Thai skills or fitness. I highly recommend KruFit!

2. Exercise Inc.

exercise-inc

Website: https://exerciseinc.com/

Address: 1001 N. St. Rd. 135 Suite D7, Greenwood

Contact: 317-865-9000

Hours: No hours specified

Exercise Inc is very different from a typical Muay Thai gym since it focuses on quick, private strength sessions that fit easily into a busy schedule.

Each workout is only about 20 minutes, but it’s fully guided and centered on safe resistance training instead of high-impact striking or combat work.

What’s great about them is that their coaches really put joint safety and pain relief first, which makes it approachable if you’re trying to build strength without beating up your body.

Sessions are small too, usually just a few people in the room, so it never feels crowded or overwhelming.

On the downside, there’s no kickboxing, no sparring, and no group class energy. It’s strictly one-on-one or small sessions, so it works best as a strength-building add-on rather than a replacement for actual fight training

Pros

  • Minimal time commitment of 20 minutes a week
  • Private and distraction-free environment
  • Professional guidance focused on joint safety
  • Multiple accessible locations around the area

Cons

  • No martial arts or striking classes available
  • Limited to scheduled one-on-one appointments

Customer Reviews:

I am extremely grateful for Ben’s thoughtful and strategic help each week

A change in my career a few years ago made my regular workout schedule impossible. Working with Ben for the last few months at Exercise Inc (Greenwood) has helped me regain my strength in just 20 minutes a week. I am extremely grateful for Ben’s thoughtful and strategic help each week.

Ben is professional, attentive & kind

I’ve been working out with my personal trainer, Ben Van Dyke

for over a year & all my muscles are stronger but most important to me is that the muscles around my very arthritic spine are improving. It’s helping

my posture which I didn’t think could be helped. Ben is professional ,attentive & kind. I look forward to our sessions every week.

The coaches are nationally certified and put a lot of focus on clean technique, which makes it feel approachable even if you’re just getting started.

For parents who are looking for family-friendly activities, Top Level Gym can serve as an indoor playground for your little ones, as they offer kids’ classes here too.

However, early morning classes aren’t available. If you’re the type who likes to train before work, it might not be the most convenient fit.

Customer Reviews:

The gym is well-equipped

Top Level Gym is the real deal. The coaches are top-notch and push you to get better every single day. The Muay Thai, boxing, and wrestling programs are all excellent, and the level of talent here is legit. The gym is well-equipped and always kept clean, and the environment is both competitive and welcoming. I’ve been training here while working on my MMA journey, and it’s been an amazing experience. If you’re serious about striking, grappling, or just getting in shape, this is the place to be.

The Boxing and Muay Thai instructors are really cool dudes

I started a week ago and this place is addictive. The Boxing and Muay Thai instructors are really cool dudes! The environment is incredible, positive, and focused on meeting your needs. Great for the person looking to learn how to fight like a professional and develop a healthy lifestyle. I was incredibly nervous the first day I went but I am more than glad I signed up!

Triumph Boxing & Martial Arts mixes solid conditioning with real striking training, all in a really beginner-friendly environment.

The vibe is very welcoming, and you don’t feel out of place even if it’s your first time stepping on the mats. Most of their loyal patrons highlight how the coaches here guide newbies the moment they walk in.

The class itself blends boxing and kickboxing, so you’re constantly moving, and your heart rate stays up the whole time without it feeling overwhelming.

I actually tried a noon class there recently, and the coach handed me loaner gear right away, which made it easy to jump in.

Unfortunately, they’re closed on Sundays, so all your weekend training has to fit into Saturday morning. But if that timing works for you, it’s a really solid Muay Thai gym to train consistently.

Pros

  • Intense cardio mixed with authentic instruction
  • Extremely flexible daily class schedule
  • Welcoming and intimidation-free atmosphere
  • Provides loaner gear for new students

Cons

  • Facility is closed on Sundays
  • Limited Saturday availability

Customer Reviews:

They do a really good job of exposing people to very advanced techniques safely

Was here on and off during a short stint I had in Indy and I’m very glad I picked this gym. Strong family vibe, passionate teachers, inclusive sparring/training culture, and very clean (the most important one). They do a really good job of exposing people to very advanced techniques safely; I think I had way more freedom here to workshop new moves/combos than any other gym I’ve been to. If ever I’m back in Indy again I’m 100% making time to get a day/week pass.

The instructors are great about meeting you at your level

This gym is great! I love the environment that the coaches and the members create in this gym!! As soon as you walk in the door you are welcomed by everyone and encouraged to join the “triumph family”. The instructors are great about meeting you at your level and helping you grow and not just putting you into a system. They each take time to help you perfect the skills so you can effectively advance and get the most out of your workout or training. If you have ever wanted to try a combat sport I highly recommend starting at triumph!

5. Circle City Martial Arts and Fitness

circle-city-martial-arts-and-fitness

Website: http://www.ccmaf.com/

Address: 1202 N Illinois St

Contact: 317-643-1887

Hours: No hours specified

Circle City Martial Arts and Fitness offers a pretty well-rounded mix of striking and grappling, with a hybrid kickboxing program alongside their No-Gi classes.

Their kickboxing classes focus on solid fundamentals that work well whether you’re there for fitness, self-defense, or just learning something new.

What makes it easy to stick with is the schedule, since they run over 30 hours of instruction each week, so you’re not constantly rearranging your day just to train.

Plus, they’ve got a pretty affordable intro offer that lets you try the gym for a full month, which takes a lot of pressure off deciding right away.

Do take note, though, that they blend Dutch-style kickboxing with Thai elements, so it’s a bit of a mix rather than a pure Muay Thai approach. If you’re open to that, though, it’s a really flexible and beginner-friendly Muay Thai gym to train at.

Pros

  • Dynamic striking paired with exclusive grappling
  • Over 30 hours of classes available weekly
  • Affordable introductory trial month
  • Accessible classes for all basic skill levels

Cons

  • Striking style is a hybrid rather than traditional

Customer Reviews:

Felt completely comfortable

Being new to this kind of sport i felt completely comfortable and welcome walking in on the first practice. This place feels like a second home after just your first couple visits. Everyone supports each other regardless of who you are or how experienced you are. The trainers have great energy and work with you 1 on 1 as well as in a group. They will supply gloves and pads or you can bring your own! All you need to get started is a step through that door.

The coaches genuinely want to see you improve

Great gym with even better people! Everyone from veteran members to new members are extremely friendly and approachable. The coaches genuinely want to see you improve and will take time drilling small details on new techniques. I have no fighting experience but I have a came long way thanks to the coaches and members here at Circle City Martial Arts. Joining this gym will be one of the best decisions you’ll ever make!
