You get to build your feast from scratch, picking out your favorite fresh catch, seasoning blend, and heat level before they bring it out piping hot.

I recently grabbed a large combo platter here with some friends, and diving into that giant pile of spicy crab and shrimp was an absolute blast.

That said, the bold seasoning is sometimes not mixed evenly throughout the bag, leaving a few bites less flavorful than others.

Additionally, they occasionally mix up the requested spice levels on custom orders.

Still, if you want a massive, shareable feast that encourages you to get your hands dirty, this spot is a solid choice.

Pros

  • Authentic Cajun-style boils
  • Highly customizable spice levels
  • Large, group-friendly combos
  • Wide variety of fresh seafood

Cons

  • Inconsistent flavor distribution
  • Occasional order mix-ups
  • Extra charges for order corrections

The Cajun seasoning was perfectly spicy

This place had the best seafood boil ever. The Cajun seasoning was perfectly spicy and not too much.

We got scallops, shrimp and crab legs with potatoes and corn.

It was super filling and a perfect protein meal for the night🥹

The service was also very nice, kind and helpful servers.

The food was well seasoned and very good

Wife took me here for me and my sons bday. 1st time I have had a seafood boil and it won’t be my last. The food was well seasoned and very good. Our server was phenomenal. I believe his name was Jay. Definitely call ahead and ask for him.

Went back again tonight. This time William was our server. And once again phenomenal food and service. Ya should set the industry standard on customer service.

Because their boils automatically include classic sides like corn and potatoes, you get a filling, traditional meal without having to piece everything together yourself. It’s a fantastic setup for diners who want variety and bundled value in one sitting.

On the downside, you might notice some inconsistencies during your visit. A few diners have mentioned that the flavor profiles can occasionally feel a bit underwhelming, lacking that punchy seasoning you expect from a Cajun-style feast.

There have also been minor concerns about the perceived freshness of certain items on slower days.

Still, the expansive menu and budget-friendly combo specials keep it a solid choice if you’re after a casual, interactive seafood boil experience.

Pros

  • Fully customizable meals
  • Flexible half-pound portions
  • Classic sides included
  • Affordable combo specials
  • Wide variety of seafood

Cons

  • Underwhelming flavor profiles

Everything tasted great!

Everything was absolutely fenomenal. I love seafood boils and even do a boil myself from time to time. But after reading through reviews, I was skeptical. Everything tasted great! Had plenty of food, service was fenomenal, and the restaurant was very clean. I will say, their restaurant was empty the whole time, which is typically not a good sign. I got 1/2 pound of snow crab, shrimp, scallops, black mussels, and sausage; did every seasoning at medium spice level and it was perfect. Paid $85 for all that, crab cakes, and a beer. Will definitely be back soon!!

The food was served hot and fast

It wasn’t busy when we went but the food was served hot and fast. The flavor was awesome for both meals. Catfish, fries, seafood boil with crab legs and sausage (spicy). My broccoli with garlic butter was better than I expected. The service was very kind and helpful since it was our first time visiting there. It is definitely a place we look forward to returning to with family. Plus, we don’t live nearby, we traveled an hour to eat there so glad we weren’t disappointed.

Sometimes you just want a dependable, ready-to-eat seafood boil without having to build it yourself. Red Lobster leans into that idea, offering familiar seafood boil-style combinations with higher-end items like Maine lobster tail and snow crab legs.

Their “shake-and-serve” bag approach keeps everything hot and evenly coated with garlic butter or Cajun seasoning, and it’s designed to land right at the table ready to eat.

We recently tried one of their seasonal lobster deals, and the convenience of a pre-set, family-style platter made the whole meal feel effortless.

That said, the experience isn’t always perfectly smooth. Service can be hit or miss during busy periods, especially when it comes to wait times for greetings or drink refills.

There are also moments when food doesn’t arrive as hot as you’d expect.

Even so, it remains a comfortable, familiar option if you’re looking for a straightforward seafood dinner with minimal decision-making.

Pros

  • Premium lobster and crab
  • Convenient pre-built combos
  • Signature shake-and-serve bags
  • Accessible nationwide chain

Cons

  • Inconsistent staff attentiveness
  • Occasional food temperature issues

Very polite, courteous, and respectful

The waiter Jasmine was very, polite, courteous, and respectful. We were treated with dignity.  She made sure our drinks stayed filled. Our food was hot. Jasmine really made our evening/ my birthday very special. “We’ll definitely ask for Jasmine next time we come back.

Established locally back in 2016, Crab 99 Bar and Restaurant is one of the earlier hands-on seafood boil spots in the city. It stands out for its signature sauce options and wide selection of boiled ingredients, from scallops to king crab legs.

The flexible portion sizes also make it easy to order for one person or to build a large family-style spread.

The atmosphere is casual and laid-back, which works well if you’re looking to unwind rather than rush through a meal.

That said, the service side can be a bit inconsistent. Even with a reservation, seating isn’t always immediate, and peak hours can lead to longer waits for both drinks and food.

Still, the regular specials and happy hour deals help balance out the slower service, making it a decent value if you’re not in a hurry.

Pros

  • Distinct signature sauces
  • Flexible portion sizing
  • Frequent happy hour specials
  • Premium ingredient options

Cons

  • Long wait times for drinks
  • Clunky reservation handling
  • Inconsistent food temperatures

The food was perfect.

We stopped in for a bite before the Yueltide show. Our server was great! The food was perfect. Brought my nephew for his first seafood boil and calamari he loved it. They use the best quality seafood

The best cooked Cajun seafood boil around! The price for what you get it’s pretty reasonable. I love how you can custom the entire plate to your liking. They use the best quality seafood around. Highly recommend for seafood lovers such as myself.

5. Santiago’s Seafood Market

Website: https://santiagosseafoodan.wixsite.com/santiagos/menu

Address: 7857 Michigan Rd, St B, Indianapolis, IN 46268

Contact: (463) 224-7156

Hours:

Tue – Sat: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Sunday: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Combining Southern-style seafood boils with Mexican influences, Santiago’s Seafood Market offers a unique hybrid experience that combines a fresh seafood market with a dine-in restaurant.

The setup emphasizes ingredient quality, with Cajun-style boils that include staples like sausage, corn, and potatoes. They also offer additional options such as ceviche and Mexican seafood soup.

The result is a fusion menu that feels both familiar and distinctive, with a strong focus on value.

That said, the execution isn’t always perfectly consistent. The seasoning can sometimes be applied unevenly after cooking rather than fully infused into the boil, which affects flavor balance from bite to bite.

There are also occasional issues with promotional clarity, where advertised discounts may not be applied as smoothly as expected.

Even with those drawbacks, the combination of fresh sourcing and bold fusion dishes makes it an appealing option for diners looking for something a little different from a standard seafood boil.

Pros

  • Unique hybrid market concept
  • Affordable, value-oriented pricing
  • Blends Southern and Mexican flavors
  • Strong emphasis on fresh sourcing
  • Large and diverse menu

Cons

  • Uneven flavor application
  • Unclear promotional policies
  • Inconsistent food preparation

It was fantastic, plenty big enough for 2 people to share

This place is amazing!! We traveled an hour just to come eat and it was well worth it. We had the seafood boil and it was fantastic, plenty big enough for 2 people to share. We also got a few side items. One was calamari and it was the best I’ve ever had. The sauces and tarter they have are house made and were delicious too. Couldn’t recommend this place more. I’m already planning our next night out there 😋
