Finding the right fit for your specific foot shape is easy here at Fleet Feet Indianapolis, which uses 3D scanning technology to capture 12 precise data points.
I recently stopped by for a fitting to prepare an out-of-town guest for the best things to do in Indianapolis before we go on a marathon, and the staff’s expert advice actually helped me get rid of my arch pain.
This shop has a great local vibe and offers professional-grade technology, along with a generous 60-day test-run guarantee on all footwear. They even serve as a community hub, offering group training for runners of all skill levels.
Just keep in mind that you might have to wait a little while if you walk in without an appointment on a busy Saturday. Also, they focus strictly on performance gear, so you will not find any casual fashion sneakers here.
Quality shoes, nice return policy, and better staff!
Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff! Appreciated the one on one time helping us choose the right running shoe for our daughter. They use cool equipment to determine the type of shoe needed for each individual based on foot and walking patterns. Quality shoes, nice return policy, and better staff!

2. Stout’s Footwear

Website: http://www.stoutsfootwear.com/
Address: 318 Massachusetts Ave
Contact: (317) 632-7818
Hours:
- Monday – Saturday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Sunday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Stepping into the nation’s oldest shoe store feels like a piece of living history. Stout’s Footwear has been serving our community from the heart of the city since 1886, and that experience really shows.
For instance, every customer receives personalized measurement and fitting from highly trained staff to ensure the best possible comfort.
They also curate an impressive inventory of high-end brands and prioritize premium quality over fast-fashion trends. Plus, you can easily find many hard-to-find sizes and widths that standard department stores usually ignore.
One notable downside is their strict final sale policy on certain marked items, leaving you stuck with the purchase if you change your mind.
Returning regular items without the original box will also result in a frustrating restocking fee being subtracted from your refund.
The overall selection of the store was good
Wonderful experience, the sales rep who helped us Cara, was super knowledgeable of the fit of different brands of shoes and what brands and styles would best fit what we were looking for. The attention and care we were given was better than any shoe store I’ve ever been to before and the prices were comparable to buying from other stores or online. The overall selection of the store was good and I definitely plan to return in the future for any shoe needs I may have.

What a phenomenal shopping experience
What a phenomenal shopping experience. My friend and I walked by the store on our way to brunch. Afterward, we stopped in. Well organized, amazing selection and knowledgeable and fun salespeople. We had so much fun with Aaron, who was so patient and helpful. While they have an online store, the personal experience is beyond wonderful. Wish I lived closer.

3. Goodman’s Shoes

Website: http://www.goodmansshoes.com/
Address: 1530 E 86th St
Contact: (317) 846-5718
Hours: Monday – Saturday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Generations of locals have relied on Goodman’s Shoes, a four-generation family business, for over a century. Their fresh, modern retail space offers a relaxed atmosphere for browsing a massive selection of premium footwear.
This shop specializes in comfort by stocking more than 45 top-tier brands, creating a very supportive shopping environment.
I actually sent a stressed-out coworker here last month, and she raved about the personalized fitting advice she received from the knowledgeable floor team.
On the negative side, they’re closed on Sundays, which limits options for weekend shoppers. You should also keep in mind that you will have to cover your own return shipping costs if you return an online order.
Overall, though, their history and service make them a local favorite.
Had a very wide selection of shoe
Had a very wide selection of shoe styles and sizes, and a significant selection of shoes on clearance. It is typically difficult to find shoes that fit my wife’s feet, but we found a couple different options here and received more tips from staff on other places/brands to investigate. Would recommend.

Outstanding staff!
Outstanding staff! Very knowledgeable and helpful. You can tell they really want their customers to find the right shoe. They also carry a really great variety of comfort shoes and shoes for a variety of foot issues. I found the prices to be comparable to shopping directly from the shoe companies online. I would definitely suggest and return.

4. Shoe Carnival

Website: https://www.shoecarnival.com/
Address: 10609 E Washington St
Contact: (317) 890-9520
Hours:
- Monday – Saturday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Sunday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Walking into this warehouse-style store is quite an experience, thanks to its lively carnival atmosphere.
Shoe Carnival is well known for its popular half-off deals, which make it a great spot for families. You can easily pick up work boots and kids’ sneakers in one trip and still have money for a round of miniature golf afterward.
Just be aware that the high-energy, loud atmosphere can be a bit much if you prefer a calm shopping experience. It’s also worth noting that some high-end performance models are not included in their frequent sales.
If you’re looking for a fun and affordable way to get shoes for everyone, though, this store is definitely worth a visit.
I was just happy
I picked my son up from his father’s wife and we have been looking for comfort nothing else. We chose the Nike Air Max Nova (TD). Staff greeted me regardless of my discomfort in new store staffing. I was just happy they greeted me I went to bath and body works and was ignore the whole time. The women actually ran from me.

Prices are reasonable
I’ve always had good customer service. If I can’t find what I want in store, I can order online right there at the counter. There’s also free shipping to the store or home if done in store. Prices are reasonable and there’s always a deal happening. 💙

5. CORPORATE

Website: http://corporategotem.com/
Address: 245 McCrea St
Contact: (317) 426-3813
Hours: Tuesday – Saturday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
CORPORATE does a great job of bridging the gap between high-end fashion and streetwear culture.
Because they’re located right in the heart of the cultural arts district, they give locals easy access to limited sneaker releases from the biggest names in the industry.
You can even build a full head-to-toe look since they carry exclusive apparel and accessories, too.
One of the best things about having a local shop is that you can see these highly anticipated drops in person before you decide to buy them.
However, you should keep in mind that they have a very strict final sale policy on all footwear. This means no returns or size exchanges are allowed at all.
Also, if you shop online, the minimum spend to get free shipping is pretty high.
Corporate is my go-to spot for shoes
Whenever I’m in Indianapolis, Corporate is my go-to spot for shoes and clothes. A fashion-savvy friend put me onto this gem, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Pro tip: snag coveted sneakers at retail, even post-release. Just a heads-up, though: check the store hours and social media before going, downtown parking can be limited and tricky. Also, be sure to review the return policy before making any purchases. You’ll thank me later.

The best sneaker selection in Indianapolis
Without a doubt the best sneaker selection in Indianapolis. With an absolutely amazing staff that will keep you up-to-date with most kicks and kick news. Their clothing selection a second to none. They are a huge contribution to my shoe collection.
