The 5 Best Hotels in Indianapolis for Your Next Trip

best-hotels-indianapolis
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Location and Accessibility: We evaluated how close each hotel is to major attractions like the Indiana Convention Center, Lucas Oil Stadium, and other downtown draws. A central location cuts down on travel time and gives you more room to explore.

Amenities and Value: We looked closely at what each stay includes for the rate, from breakfast and Wi-Fi to pools and on-site dining. Hotels that offer useful perks without piling on extra costs ranked higher.

Comfort and Cleanliness: A good hotel should feel restful the moment you get to your room. We prioritized properties that consistently deliver clean spaces, comfortable beds, and well-kept common areas.

Service Quality: Staff can make a big difference, especially when plans shift or you need quick help. Hotels known for friendly, attentive, and efficient service stood out during our review.

Guest Feedback and Consistency: We paid attention to recurring patterns in guest experiences rather than one-off reactions. That helped us spot strengths that hold up over time, as well as recurring issues such as noise, maintenance concerns, or uneven housekeeping.

Finding the best hotels in Indianapolis can shape your whole trip, whether you’re in town for a Colts game, a convention, or a relaxed downtown weekend.

If your visit includes a celebration, you might also want to look at local wedding venues. Travelers after a more homey setup may prefer nearby short-term rentals

For everyone else, these hotel picks stand out for their convenience, comfort, and city views that make a trip feel smoother from the start. R

With the right option, you have easier access to the city’s biggest attractions and a comfortable place to recharge after a full day out. Read on to find your perfect stay!

Address: 410 South Missouri Street

Contact: (317) 822-6400

Hours: Check-in: 3:00 PM, Check-out: 11:00 AM

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Indianapolis Dtn-Conv Ctr Area by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is hard to beat for pure downtown convenience.

It sits right by Lucas Oil Stadium, and the Indiana Convention Center is close enough to make event days much easier. I also appreciate the free Express Start® breakfast because it adds real value before a busy day around downtown or the zoo.

Free high-speed Wi-Fi and a heated indoor pool make the stay feel practical as well as comfortable. Plus, the rooms are modern and clean, which is exactly what I want from a reliable chain hotel.

The main tradeoffs are the extra parking fee and the traffic noise some guests notice in exterior-facing rooms.

Pros

  • Prime downtown location near major venues
  • Clean and spacious modern rooms
  • Free hot breakfast adds significant value
  • Friendly and highly accommodating staff

Cons

  • Street noise audible in exterior rooms
  • Additional daily parking fees apply

clean, smelled clean, and was well maintained

I stay at Holiday Inn Express quite often. I must say, this is the best one I have stayed at! The room (king premium) was clean, smelled clean, and was well maintained. The staff were polite, helpful, and seemed like they actually cared. The location is fantastic for sporting events. Directly next to Lucas Oil stadium, and only a few blocks from where the Pacers play! Downtown is right up the road. I highly recommend staying here!

Staff was friendly,  clean facilities

Stayed here for PRI 2025. Great location relative to the Convention Center and downtown.  Easy to walk the .25 mile from the west exit, or the south entrance is even closer across from the Lucas Stadium.  Parking in lot was $25/day additional.  Nice facility,  first hotel I can remember the bathroom vent fan is effective! East side rooms are next to the main drag, so there is some traffic noise, but not terrible.  Staff was friendly,  clean facilities,  continental breakfast was great, lots of good choices.  Definitely would stay here again.

2. Conrad Indianapolis

Website: https://www.hilton.com/

Address: 50 West Washington Street

Contact: (317) 713-5000

Hours: Check-in: 3:00 PM, Check-out: 12:00 PM

Conrad Indianapolis feels like the polished pick when you want a true luxury stay in the middle of downtown. What stands out to me most is the direct skywalk to the convention center, which is especially helpful during packed event weekends or bad weather.

The full-service spa gives it an edge over other downtown options, and the heated indoor pool and sauna make it easy to slow down after meetings or sightseeing.

As for the rooms, these come with deep soaking tubs and Italian marble bathrooms, so the experience feels intentionally upscale from start to finish.

I also like the curated artwork and gallery tours because they give the hotel more personality than a standard business property.

That said, some rooms struggle with airflow, and street noise can still carry upward even on higher floors.

Pros

  • Direct skywalk to major downtown venues
  • Only full-service luxury spa in downtown
  • Upscale on-site dining at The Capital Grille
  • Curated art gallery and wellness amenities

Cons

  • Limited room temperature control
  • Insufficient soundproofing from street traffic

Excellent service

Centrally located in downtown Indianapolis. I was able to get to an early work meeting within minutes. If you can find a meter to park at, use the ParkMobile app to pay till 11pm. From 11p-7a is typically complimentary (thanks for the info, valet!!). Excellent service provided by JP, Oscar and Samuel. A huge treat and hope to be back again soon!

Had a really good stay

This hotel was very nice and has a great location in the heart of Indianapolis.  I can’t really find anything to complain about on this one, we stayed one night and had a really good stay. The valet guys were super helpful too as I had to go get something out of the car literally a few minutes after they parked it and I could tell they were not annoyed like some would have been.

3. Sheraton Indianapolis Hotel at Keystone Crossing

Website: https://www.marriott.com/

Address: 8787 Keystone Crossing

Contact: (317) 846-2700

Hours: Check-in: 3:00 PM, Check-out: 12:00 PM

Sheraton Indianapolis Hotel at Keystone Crossing is a better fit for travelers who want an upscale stay outside the busiest part of downtown.

The direct indoor connection to The Fashion Mall is the big draw, especially if you want shopping and dining close by without dealing with the weather.

I’m also a fan of the quieter Keystone Crossing setting because it feels more relaxed than the city center while still keeping downtown within easy driving distance.

It’s also fantastic that the rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds and practical workstations, and the on-site restaurant keeps meals simple. This can also work well for events thanks to the large meeting spaces and club-level perks.

The downside is that some areas show wear, and guests have reported bathroom issues plus unexpected amenity closures.

Pros

  • Direct indoor connection to The Fashion Mall
  • Quieter suburban location near upscale dining
  • Extensive meeting and event spaces
  • Comfortable beds and spacious work areas

Cons

  • Visible wear and maintenance issues
  • Unexpected amenity closures

We loved it so much that our family comes here often

It was hard to find a hotel in Indianapolis that has a hot tub. Then we discovered this place, and we loved it so much that our family comes here often. The atmosphere is great, and above all, the location is excellent.

Went above and beyond to make their stay exceptional

I am writing this review on behalf of Craig Hunt, who recently stayed at the Sheraton Indianapolis at Keystone Crossing.  Craig said he had a wonderful experience and that Ben went above and beyond to make their stay exceptional.  From taking care of their luggage to valet parking their car and everything in between – Ben was amazing!  Thanks Ben!

4. Hyatt Regency Indianapolis

Website: https://www.hyatt.com/

Address: One South Capitol Avenue

Contact: (317) 632-1234

Hours: Check-in: 4:00 PM, Check-out: 12:00 PM

Hyatt Regency Indianapolis stands out the moment you walk into the huge 20-story atrium.

What I like most here is the mix of downtown access and memorable extras, especially the skywalk connection to Lucas Oil Stadium and the Indiana Convention Center.

Overall, its central location also makes it easy to reach restaurants, entertainment, and business spots on foot.

As for on-site dining, the Eagle’s Nest revolving rooftop restaurant adds a city-view experience that not every hotel can offer.

The rooms are also notable, with modern amenities, plush bedding, and work-friendly setups that suit a quick business trip or a weekend stay.

The weak point is consistency. Some guests have mentioned bathroom cleanliness issues, including mold in showers, so upkeep does not always match the setting.

Pros

  • Direct skywalk to major downtown venues
  • Unique revolving rooftop restaurant
  • Massive 20-story atrium lobby design
  • Excellent walkability to central attractions

Cons

  • Cleanliness concerns in some bathrooms
  • Inconsistent housekeeping and room quality

We had great experience

While staying at the hyatt house downtown indianapolis, we had great experience throughout the whole stay from the room. The breakfast and the staff we specifically would like to thank Kaylin at valet for helping us check in at such a late time during the night and giving recommendations for places to eat and things to do around the city.

The rooms are spacious and beautifully kept

“What an incredible stay! This hotel truly has everything you could want right in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. The rooms are spacious and beautifully kept, the amenities are top-notch, and the location couldn’t be better. But what really sets this place apart is the staff—absolutely outstanding from start to finish. They made the whole experience unforgettable!”

5. Omni Severin Hotel

Website: https://www.omnihotels.com/

Address: 40 West Jackson Place

Contact: (317) 634-6664

Hours: Check-in: 4:00 PM, Check-out: 12:00 PM

Omni Severin Hotel is the one I’d point travelers to for a stay with some real Indianapolis character.

The historic setting across from Union Station gives it an elegant feel right away, and the restored architecture makes it stand out from more standard downtown options.

The location works well for both business trips and weekends because you can get around downtown without much hassle.

I also appreciate that it balances that old-school charm with modern comforts like a heated indoor pool and updated rooms.

Cleanliness and overall comfort are recurring strengths from guests I surveyed, which matter a lot in a historic property.

The main drawbacks are less consistent dining and uneven complaint handling, so the service experience may not feel as polished as the building itself.

Pros

  • Stunning historic architecture and design
  • Prime location across from Union Station
  • High cleanliness and comfort ratings
  • Heated indoor pool and modern amenities

Cons

  • Inconsistent food quality at on-site dining
  • Issue resolution from staff can be uneven

The staff was attentive, friendly and always willing to help

Recently hosted our wedding at the Omni, Indianapolis and could not have been happier with how everything went! The staff was attentive, friendly and always willing to help where ever they could. Cecilia was so great to work with and did an amazing job from the moment she stepped in to help with our weekend. She was the first person I saw the day before at the hotel and it make me so excited for everything. Would highly recommend this venue for your next big event.

hotel was beautiful

The Omni hotel in Indianapolis went above and beyond to make our stay special and to help me make my proposal memorable. This included rose pedals, champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries without even charging me. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were friendly and very helpful. We will always cherish the memories from this trip. Thank you to everyone who helped me get a yes!
