The 5 Best Truck Repairs in Indianapolis for Expert Fleet Maintenance

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Diagnostic Capabilities: Modern commercial vehicles rely heavily on complex electronic control modules. We prioritized shops equipped with up-to-date software to accurately pull codes and prevent unnecessary part swaps.

Service Turnaround Times: Prolonged shop stays directly cut into a driver's schedule and profitability. We evaluated each facility's commitment to fast assessments and its ability to stock common replacement parts.

Specialized Expertise: General auto mechanics often lack the heavy-duty lifts required for large rigs. We looked for technicians with dedicated diesel certifications and proven experience handling air brakes.

Emergency Availability: Breakdowns rarely happen during standard business hours or in convenient locations. We considered the availability of round-the-clock roadside assistance and mobile repair units to get drivers moving again.

Keeping a commercial vehicle on the road is a big job that requires a trusted mechanic, especially when towing situations suddenly happen. Unplanned downtime is expensive and creates major scheduling headaches for everyone involved.

Fleet managers want fast turnarounds, and independent drivers need honest pricing. With so many moving parts to manage, from maintaining loading bays to handling facility upkeep, truck repairs should be one less thing to worry about.

That’s why we took a close look at the best truck repair shops in Indianapolis, focusing on teams known for reliability, efficiency, and solid workmanship.

This guide makes it easier to find a dependable crew and get back on the road safely and quickly.

Breaking down on the side of the road late at night is every driver’s worst scenario. That’s why it’s great that Big Rig Truck & Trailer Repair and Road Service focuses on getting heavy-duty vehicles moving again as quickly as possible.

They send out mobile units that can fix mid-level issues at a warehouse or right on the interstate. Their team uses specialized computer tools to quickly diagnose heavy-duty Class 7 and 8 trucks.

They also handle trailer repairs like fixing doors and roofs to keep your cargo safe during transit.

However, because they specialize in these massive vehicles, they don’t service light-duty commercial vans.

There is an added fee for the mobile service call, but avoiding the high cost of a heavy tow makes it well worth the price.

Pros

  • Wide regional service radius
  • Diverse mechanical and electrical capabilities
  • Dedicated emergency tire assistance
  • On-site welding and fabrication

Cons

  • Unsuitable for light-duty commercial vans
  • Extra fees applied to mobile service calls

Friendly and professional!

They came out quickly when nobody would during the snow storm in Indianapolis. Tire blew clean off the rim from an object in the road. Fixed the truck very quickly and got me back on the road. I’d definitely call them if I need service again. Friendly and professional!

The company was very nice

Was broke down on the side of the road during very cold temperatures mechanic came out to fix the problem right away. The company was very nice and the price was reasonably well priced that was very impressed.

2. Indianapolis Spring Truck Service

Website: https://www.calltruckservice.com/indianapolis-spring

Address: 3140 W Morris St

Contact: (317) 243-7491; Fax: (317) 390-6435; [email protected]

Hours: Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Finding a mechanic with decades of history and true fabrication skills is not something you come across often, and Indianapolis Spring Truck Service stands out for exactly that reason.

Instead of simply swapping parts, they specialize in building obsolete components from scratch when replacements are no longer available.

They handle a huge range of vehicles, from school buses to massive mining dozers. We saw this ourselves when our delivery truck broke a leaf spring last fall, and they built a new one right there.

Plus, they have certified technicians for specialized underground vehicle repairs.

On the downside, they are strictly closed on weekends, so a Saturday breakdown means waiting until Monday.

Also, their hose and tube center closes an hour earlier than the main shop. This creates a very tight window for any late-afternoon emergencies.

Still, their deep expertise is definitely worth the visit for unique repairs.

Pros

  • Automotive Service Excellence certified master technicians
  • High-end Hunter Engineering alignment systems
  • Specialized on-site tube and hose fabrication
  • Focus on automated Groeneveld lubrication solutions

Cons

  • Strictly closed on weekends
  • Early afternoon closure for specialty fabrication
  • Single physical location limits local accessibility

Everything was flawless

Jordan was great! Everything was flawless. I was in and out quickly and it was very knowledgeable on what I needed. Also, the prices are very good. I will be coming back from one business to another. Thank you very much! Thanks again, Jordan!

The issue was fixed!

Took our Box reefer truck here to repair  a shaking and shuttering issue that’s plagued this truck for years.  Jason said in order to save $ we should first get new steer tires put on it. He didnt charge us anything to look at it.  So took it to who he recommended, and the issue was fixed!

Hours: Monday – Saturday: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Predictable maintenance costs matter for any logistics business, and Indiana Truck and Trailer Repair focuses on helping fleets stay on track.

Their technicians work across major brands like Freightliner and Volvo, making them a reliable choice for companies that operate mixed fleets.

They have a mobile team that provides 24/7 emergency roadside help so you can get back on the road without long delays.

You can also use their professional DPF cleaning service to help your engines run more efficiently and reduce your emissions.

They offer a great tiered savings program to help lower costs, but there is a catch. This discount is only for fleets with five or more trucks. This means individual owner-operators are left out of those savings.

Plus, they only work on medium and heavy-duty rigs, so small commercial pickups are not a good fit. It might be best to go to general auto repair shops for those.

Pros

  • Same-day diagnostic and minor repair completion
  • Advanced computerized wheel alignment technology
  • Comprehensive structural trailer solutions
  • Upfront transparency on timelines and estimates

Cons

  • Discount program excludes fleets under five trucks
  • Unequipped for light-duty commercial vans

Reliable, fair pricing, and great turnaround time!

We’ve been working with Indiana Truck & Trailer Repair for a while now, and they’ve consistently delivered top-notch service. Their team is knowledgeable, quick to respond, and always honest about what needs to be done. From diagnostics to major engine repairs and roadside service, everything has been handled professionally. Highly recommend them for any truck or trailer work—reliable, fair pricing, and great turnaround time!

Website: https://www.wiers.com/indianapolis-in/

Address: 3748 W Morris St

Contact: (317) 429-0924; [email protected]

Hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Mobile Center: By Appointment Only

Federal maintenance rules can overwhelm even experienced logistics coordinators, so we appreciate that Wiers Fleet Service helps simplify that process for mixed fleets.

Their technicians rely on specialized diagnostic software to interpret complex engine codes, which helps reduce delays and keeps repairs efficient.

We actually spoke to a local manager who uses them. He mentioned that the online dashboard makes tracking maintenance history very simple.

They also bring strong credentials to the table. The team is authorized to service Allison Transmissions and has a long-standing background as an International Truck Dealer.

However, one downside is that they have no service hours on weekends. This means shop visits must happen on weekdays.

Also, their online emergency forms are only checked during business hours. If you need immediate help late at night, you will definitely need to call them.

Pros

  • Comprehensive mobile repair scheduling
  • Strong twelve-month parts and labor warranty
  • Factory-trained technicians with ongoing education
  • Broad capability across specialized jobsite equipment
  • Strategic location near major parts vendors

Cons

  • Service center completely closed on weekends
  • Online emergency requests unmonitored after hours

Great team

would recommend to anyone with any problems with a truck to go to Wiers 24/7 truck repair. Because they fixed my truck and did a good job for me I feel like my truck is different now. Thanks to Daniel the mechanic who knows what he is doing and Christine is also nice and Brian. Great team I thank you all so much.

Excellent customer service

Wiers has been an asset to our business. Their fleet partner package is the real deal and they really go the extra mile to make sure our trucks stay safe and on the road! Jacob and his team provide excellent customer service and are always honest in their diagnosis, price, and repair timeline of our equipment. I highly recommend using these guys for all of your fleet needs!!

5. Diesel Surgeon Truck and Trailer Roadside Assistance

Address: Sundance Dr

Contact: (317) 789-5002; [email protected]

Hours: Available 24/7

Power loss on a busy highway can rattle any driver. When this happens, it’s important to have a technician who knows exactly how to handle heavy-duty engines.

Diesel Surgeon Truck and Trailer Roadside Assistance provides specialized diesel expertise to help in these situations. They use rolling service bays that are fully equipped to perform mobile repairs right on the spot.

Because they operate 24/7, they can resolve mechanical failures wherever your vehicle is parked. It’s very clear that they prioritize fast turnarounds to keep your cargo moving safely.

Just keep in mind that since they are a mobile-only service, they don’t have an indoor shop for massive overhaul projects.

Plus, they focus exclusively on diesel systems, so they’re not the best choice for companies with gasoline-powered vans.

Pros

  • Zero towing fees required
  • Comprehensive roadside mechanical capabilities
  • Reliable multi-channel emergency contact options
  • Tooling specifically geared toward diesel systems

Cons

  • Unsuitable for mixed gasoline-powered fleets
  • Lacks infrastructure for major indoor overhauls

Their service was excellent

I recently experienced a check engine light along with a DEF system issue. Manna, a certified mechanic and technician, handled everything quickly and professionally. They accurately diagnosed the problem, clearly explained the necessary repairs, and got me back on the road in no time. Their service was excellent, the pricing was fair, and they demonstrated extensive knowledge of diesel systems. I highly recommend them!

This guy saved me

This guy is the man. He’s confident and knew exactly what the issue was. I had freightliner cascadia that showed a low oil issue, and the other roadside guy kept priming the fuel system. This guy saved me. He fixed my truck and me back on the road in less than two hours. I’ll defintley be using him again next time.
