We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Room Options & Capacity: We looked for venues that offer a solid variety of private and semi-private spaces. This ensures they can comfortably accommodate anything from an intimate dinner of 10 to a blowout bash of over 100 guests.

Menu Customization: A great group meal requires serious flexibility for diverse palates and dietary restrictions. We prioritized spots that let you craft plated, family-style, or buffet menus tailored to your specific event.

Ambiance & Service: The vibe has to be just right, pairing an elegant yet comfortable setting with highly attentive staff. We favored locations that go the extra mile with dedicated event coordinators and impeccable attention to detail.

Location & Accessibility: Nobody wants their guests struggling to find parking or commuting too far from their hotel. We selected conveniently located downtown and neighborhood gems that offer easy access and smart parking solutions.

Reputation & Reviews: Word of mouth is everything when it comes to hosting a flawless dining event. We heavily weighed consistent praise for food quality, smooth room setups, and overall event success.

There’s nothing quite like the clinking of glasses and the rich, savory aroma of a shared meal to bring people together.

Whether you’re orchestrating a corporate holiday party or planning a dream rehearsal dinner, finding the perfect venue is everything.

I scoured the city to find the absolute best private dining spots Indianapolis has to offer, from historic warehouses serving up farm-fresh plates to swanky supper clubs dripping in nostalgia. Get ready to drool over some seriously mouthwatering group menus.

Hours:

Lunch: Monday – Saturday: 11 am to 3 pm

Dinner: Monday – Thursday: 5 to 10 pm, Friday – Saturday: 5 to 11 pm, Sunday: 5 to 10 pm

Stepping into this historic 1924 factory warehouse instantly sets the mood for an unforgettable feast. Bluebeard offers two distinct private spaces that dish out curated farm-to-table menus bursting with local ingredients.

Their in-house sommelier helps you pick out the perfect wine pairing for your meal. They even have a private patio for a breezy cocktail hour, making this spot a dream for intimate celebrations.

I actually helped my sister plan her rehearsal dinner here last fall, and the dedicated event coordinators made the entire process stress-free. They even connected us with a stellar local bakery for take-home treats.

While the food is undeniably mouthwatering, you should know that their cozy Second Story event space is only accessible via a 21-step staircase. This might pose mobility challenges for some guests.

Pros

  • Custom farm-to-table menus
  • In-house sommelier for wine pairings
  • Private patio available for cocktails
  • Dedicated in-house event coordinators

Cons

  • Second Story requires climbing stairs

Bluebeard is our favorite restaurant in Indy. We got engaged here and even had our wedding in their private events room. Service is always a 10/10. Our favorite meal includes the grilled bread, chop salad, spaghetti and alpine fizz. Honorable mention is the masaman from this past winter. You can’t go wrong with any order and nothing we love more than a date night on the patio.

It was a Game of Thrones kick off for the final season. The restaurant was closed for the private event of about 20-30 people. Staff were in themed attire- unlimited wine & beer included.  Food included shrimp, turkey legs, roasted chicken, and an “out of this world” pot pie (I still dream of it!). It was more food than you could eat and we even got to take home leftovers! They really take care of you! ⁣

The private dining rooms here are complete with plush velvet banquettes and glowing chandeliers. They also provide a dedicated Event Sales Manager who makes planning a full venue buyout for up to 160 seated guests an absolute breeze.

Food-wise, they serve nostalgia served alongside classic American fare. Your mouth will water just reading over their traditional supper club selections like the juicy salt-crusted prime rib and crisp signature pickled relish trays.

Keep in mind that the venue doesn’t open its doors until 4:00 PM on weekdays, completely ruling out the possibility of hosting a corporate lunch. But the curated cocktails and swanky ambiance still make it an irresistible choice for evening revelry.

Pros

  • Full venue buyout for 160 guests
  • Dedicated Event Sales Manager
  • Traditional supper club menu
  • Distinct vintage nostalgic aesthetic

Cons

  • No weekday lunch or breakfast hours

Wow! Start to finish wow! I don’t even know how to articulate the experience, but I’ll try. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our water glasses were never empty. The server, Meg, was just the right amount of attentive and gave us alone time too. She had great recommendations! I had the French dip and it was so delicious! My dude had the pork tenderloin and the way the chef married the apples was next level. The detail in the decor was stunning and the care they took in the bathrooms was wonderful. Highly recommend!

Went here for my boyfriend’s birthday. Absolutely loved it! Our waitress was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and offered great wine selections and different menu options. Beef Tartare was delicious, and I would recommend the sea bass and duck confit. Great drinks, great dinner, very welcoming staff and ambience was exactly what i was looking for. I will definitely be a repeat patron.

Sunday: 10 AM – 10 PM

Throwing a high-energy bash is effortless at this rebellious American Bistro. Culinary Dropout is where structured group gathering spaces meet an eclectic menu and expertly crafted cocktails to create an electric, crowd-pleasing vibe.

I recently attended a friend’s rowdy birthday dinner here, and we couldn’t get enough of the vibrant live music.

They serve endless rounds of crave-worthy appetizers ranging from delicate sushi to crispy Detroit-style pizza. They also have fantastic options for catering in Indianapolis if you want to take their delicious eats off-site.

The only catch is that this lively atmosphere can get quite loud. It might not be the best fit for a formal corporate presentation, but for kicking back with a huge group of friends, the bold flavors and killer tunes are totally unbeatable.

Pros

  • Dedicated group dining spaces
  • Hand-picked live music
  • Diverse menu including sushi and ribs
  • Flexible off-site catering options

Cons

  • Atmosphere can be loud for quiet meetings

A perfect brunch spot for groups. The food is genuinely great (I recommend starting with the pretzels!) but the vibe is what really makes it! Welcoming and easy to settle into with friends. Our server Coba was a huge part of that experience. He was attentive without hovering, incredibly kind, and did an amazing job guiding us through the menu and pacing everything so the table stayed relaxed and fun. We even ate dessert!!! Can’t wait to come back 🙂

This place was perfect for a girls night! We were celebrating a friends birthday and they were very accommodating. They had a birthday sign and brought out dessert at the end of our meal. The food was delicious! The only downside was it was pretty loud and kind of hard to hear each other.

4. Commission Row

Website: https://www.commissionrow.com/about/

Address: 110 S Delaware St

Contact: (317) 550-2500, [email protected]

Hours:

Monday – Thursday: 4:00 – 10:00 PM

Friday – Saturday: 4:00 – 11:00 PM

Sunday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Towering near the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Commission Row is a multi-level entertainment venue with a massive upper event center.

The sheer scale of their “Above” event space is jaw-dropping, easily swallowing up over 200 guests for extravagant wedding receptions.

It’s also undeniably cool that your party can seamlessly transition down into their adjoining public speakeasy for a moody nightcap.

They boast an expert culinary team serving up prime steaks and an incredibly fresh raw bar. You can treat your guests to luxurious seasonal ingredients and flawlessly paired spirits here.

The cuisine is top-tier, easily rivaling fine dining Restaurants in Indianapolis

On the flip side, because the venue features such a sprawling layout, it can feel slightly cavernous and might lack the cozy intimacy you would want for a secluded family dinner.

Pros

  • Massive event space for 200+ guests
  • Multi-level dining with speakeasy access
  • Expertly paired wine and spirits

Cons

  • Layout may lack intimacy for small groups

Had a fantastic experience here to celebrate my birthday! Melia was a kind and informative server and made sure we were taken care of. I think this was the best crab cake and Chilean sea bass I had ever had, melt in your mouth. I loved the steak and mushrooms. They made me a custom mocktail. Desserts were great too. Melia got us a tour of the downstairs speakeasy, Mel’s, which is a super well designed space with live music.

Food was amazing! We ordered the 6oz filet, cesar salad, wedge salad and the dessert where to die for! Pastry chef Nicole brought us our dessert and explained in detail what it was! Colby was our server and he was very nice, fun and knowledgeable. Everyone made us feel welcomed! 10/10

I can’t recommend Dean’s enough! Truly exceptional steakhouse in Indianapolis. Started off with an oyster martini at the bar, then headed to the table for the meal of a lifetime. The Salmon Wellington was a delicious option for the non-beef eaters. My bone-in strip was impeccable. 10/10 experience and the atmosphere cannot be beat. Can’t wait to come back!

Sidenote: I asked the manager for a tour and got to see the private dining room. WOW! I will be having my next private event there if I can.

WOW is all that can be said! The space itself is gorgeous and makes for such a fun night out. The service, food, drinks, and design were all impeccable! I can’t wait to go back 🙂 I also got to take a look at their private dining room – so beautiful. Would be the perfect space to host an event!
