We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Pricing and Transparency: We examined the base rental fees and what those costs actually cover. Venues with clear pricing structures and no hidden fees ranked higher.

Flexibility and Customization: We looked for spaces that allow you to bring your own vendors and decorations. A blank canvas lets you build the exact experience you want.

Venue Capacity and Accessibility: We checked the venue's maximum guest capacity to ensure options for large-scale celebrations. Ample parking and easy access to local hotels were major pluses.

Included Amenities: We noted which locations provide essential gear, such as tables and chairs. Getting these basics included saves you from having to track down outside rental companies.

Food and Beverage Policies: We compared in-house catering requirements against open-vendor rules. Having the freedom to choose your own food options gives you more control.

Planning a major event involves a lot of work, but finding the right venue sets the tone for your entire celebration. For starters, you need a place that fits your guest list and matches your unique style.

However, many people struggle to narrow down their options quickly. For this reason, we did the heavy lifting for you and did a deep dive at local favorites to find the best banquet hall in Indianapolis.

The Grand Hall is the perfect place if you want to keep your event costs under control.

They offer great flexibility by letting you bring your own alcohol and hire any outside catering company you prefer. This simple choice can save you a lot of money in the long run.

The venue is quite large and can accommodate up to 500 guests across its indoor rooms and outdoor gardens.

You’ll also find a fully equipped commercial kitchen that makes things much easier for your caterers. Even things like Wi-Fi and audio gear are included in the price.

Just keep in mind that you’ll need to handle most of the planning yourself, as they don’t have in-house planners.

Also, tours are strictly by appointment on weekdays, so those who work the standard office hours will need to make some adjustments.

Pros

  • Fully equipped commercial kitchen
  • Free Wi-Fi and audio gear
  • Over 2,000 parking spaces
  • Dedicated bride and groom suites

Cons

  • Tours by appointment only
  • Demands heavy self-coordination

Hours: Monday to Sunday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 AM

Some events really need a completely blank slate, and The Gallery Event Center offers just that with its crisp all-white look and high ceilings.

Their flat pricing is very clear and includes tables and chairs, plus a smart TV and a solid sound system.

I actually attended a product launch here last month, and the custom LED lighting totally transformed the space. They even have a great system that lets you match the lighting to your exact color scheme.

If you book them, you’ll also get access to two upscale private suites, which are perfect for getting ready.

Just keep in mind that the venue seats up to 120 guests, so it won’t work for huge weddings or galas. Also, they don’t allow red wine or dark juices to protect their beautiful white floors.

Pros

  • Clear flat pricing model
  • Open outside vendor policy
  • Flexible 2,800-square-foot layout
  • Free audio gear included

Cons

  • Strict 120-guest maximum

Address: 5425 E Thompson Rd, Suite D

Contact: (317) 406-9924; [email protected]

Hours: Monday to Sunday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 AM

Hosting a huge party requires ample space and reliable infrastructure. Blue Diamond solves this problem with a room that comfortably accommodates 600 guests.

Because they partner with Mela Indian Restaurant, you get incredibly fresh Indian cuisine right on site. They also have two built-in bars to help keep the drinks flowing without long lines.

Every rental comes with projector screens and great sound systems to make your event a success.

One cool feature is that they provide professional live streaming, so out-of-town relatives can watch your celebration in real time.

Just take note that they’re strictly closed on all major holidays, so you can’t book them for a New Year’s Eve bash. Their focus on Indian catering might also be a challenge if you want a different menu.

Pros

  • Massive 600-guest capacity
  • High-tech screens and audio
  • Large dedicated parking lot
  • Flexible late-night hours

Cons

  • Closed on all holidays
  • The menu lacks broad variety

Contact: (317) 788-4140

Hours: Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Planning a large wedding can get stressful very quickly if you have to juggle too many different vendors.

Primo helps eliminate that headache by providing both the facility and the food in one convenient package. The rental fee also covers all standard essentials, such as setup and cleanup.

It’s impressive that they’ve been operating locally for over 45 years and can easily host up to 1,000 guests. I recently talked to a friend who hosted a fundraiser there, and she really loved their complimentary centerpiece service.

However, you should know they have a very strict policy against outside food. This means you cannot bring in your favorite local food truck for the night. They also ban popular decorations like confetti and glitter to keep the space clean.

Pros

  • Huge 1,000-guest capacity
  • Wide range of catering styles
  • Free setup and cleanup
  • Multiple bar service levels

Cons

  • No outside food allowed

Website: https://literhousebanquets.com/

Address: 5301 Winthrop Ave, Suite B

Contact: (317) 536-1305; [email protected]

Hours: Monday to Sunday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM

Sometimes you want a venue that breaks away from that standard ballroom look. Liter House is perfect for this because it delivers a trendy, industrial vibe with plenty of dark-wood accents.

They serve an amazing mix of Texas-style barbecue and German comfort food that guests always love. You even get access to exclusive vegan beers from their very own on-site craft brewery.

Plus, the private Liter Room gives your group its own bar and restrooms for extra privacy. If your friends want more fun later, they can always hit a nearby laser tag spot.

However, you should know that outside catering isn’t allowed, as you have to use their specific menu. Also, the main entrance can get pretty noisy when the restaurant is busy.

Despite these minor issues, it’s a very memorable place to host a gathering.

  • Trendy industrial architecture
  • Walkable Broad Ripple location

The food, beer and drinks were delicious and the waiters and bartenders were friendly and very helpful.  The event space was perfect for our large group who ages ranged from 90 to 8 months. The younger children had fun in the open areas while the adult family members visited at the tables. We highly recommend The Liter House for your next banquet gathering!
