Hunting for historical treasures and distinctive home accents takes patience, curiosity, and a good eye for detail. With so many antique shops scattered across the city, finding the best antique store in Indianapolis can quickly start to feel overwhelming.
The right piece, whether it is a mid-century credenza or a turn-of-the-century light fixture, often comes down to knowing which shops align with your style and standards.
To make the search easier, I have spent time exploring warehouse spaces and carefully curated boutiques across the city. The goal was to narrow down the most reliable destinations for high-quality vintage finds.
Read on to discover the top spots in Indianapolis where you can uncover unique pieces that bring real character and history into your home.
1. Southport Antique Mall

Website: http://www.southportantiques.com/
Address: 2028 E. Southport Rd.
Contact: (317) 786-8246
Hours: Mon-Sat: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Sun: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Walking into this massive 36,000-square-foot facility feels a bit like moving through different pockets of time. The scale alone stands out, and with over 200 dealers inside, there’s a wide mix of styles and items to browse.
When I visited last weekend to look for vintage clothing, I noticed right away how much variety there was, even within just the clothing section.
You can find everything from shabby chic home pieces to up-cycled industrial decor, depending on where you end up wandering. The aisles are also fairly spacious, so it doesn’t feel overly cramped even when there are other shoppers around.
That said, the size of the place definitely changes the experience. It takes a real-time commitment to get through everything, and fully exploring the different booths can easily take a few hours.
If you’re on a tight schedule, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to plan a full visit around rather than a quick stop.

Treasure trove of antiques
A treasure trove of antiques. Lots of vintage kitchen equipment, home goods and decor. If you’re looking for wearables, you’ll love the second floor store absolutely stacked with vintage clothes for both men and women. The employees here carefully wrap and package everything, but you’ll need to haul any large furniture out on your own.

Definitely worth checking out
This place exists in an optical illusion. From the outside, one would never imagine the incredible amount of merchandise that exists on inside. So many twists and turns, so rooms that lead into other rooms. There’s tons of vendors selling a wide variety of vintage and antique items. Definitely worth checking out, but look for the maps…or you could get lost. 🤣

Address: 5335 Winthrop Ave

Hours: Wed-Sun: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Vintage 54 Collective Antiques Art Gifts brings together a mix of classic antique dealers and local artisans, creating a blend of vintage and contemporary styles.
Interior design enthusiasts looking for mid-century modern pieces will likely notice a curated feel as soon as they walk in here.
The layout is fairly easy to move through, with neatly arranged displays that make browsing feel organized rather than overwhelming. The staff also keeps a wishlist log at the front desk to help track down requested items.
The overall atmosphere feels warm and inviting. It encourages you to slow down and take in the details of different pieces, from artwork to brass accents.
That said, the limited hours can be a challenge. They’re only open for a few hours each day and are fully closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so planning ahead is pretty important if you want to visit.
Customer Reviews:
All in all it’s a great shop, I can’t wait to go back!
Becky and all are so pleasant and helpful. This is a small but abundant antique boutique. Lots of MCM items, WOW! However, there’s something for everyone here, so many unique charming, charismatic pieces! I had to leave before I blew my budget! (Although I did come away with several items and stayed well within my price range for what I wanted ❤) All in all it’s a great shop, I can’t wait to go back! I’ll add a few pics a little later

So glad we did check this out!
This is an absolute gem! We stopped here when they were having an outdoor market as we saw it from the place we were having lunch and decided to check it out. So glad we did! We found some of the cutest antique things and can’t wait to come back since they continue to get new things!

3. Architectural Antiques Of Indianapolis

Website: http://antiquearchitectural.com/
Address: 5000 W 96th St
Contact: (317) 873-2727 | [email protected]
Hours: Mon-Sat: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Renovating a historic home usually means tracking down very specific materials, and Architectural Antiques of Indianapolis seems built around that need.
They focus heavily on turn-of-the-century architectural pieces, which makes them a strong option if you’re looking for things like vintage doors or stained glass windows.
They also carry reproductions, and they’re upfront about which items are original versus recreated to match the style.
When I spoke with their team about restoring a Victorian mantelpiece, it was clear they have a lot of experience in restoration work. They’ve been doing this for decades, and it shows in how easily they can guide you toward the right type of materials.
Beyond the basics, they also stock more unusual pieces like cast stone statues and landscape elements that you don’t typically find in standard antique shops.
They’re closed on Sundays, though. This can be inconvenient if weekends are when you usually work on renovation projects or go sourcing materials.
Customer Reviews:
They have every antique part you could imagine
Love the endless parts and pieces that they have. From a$3 doorknob to a $4000 chandelier, they have every antique part from old homes/churches/buildings that you could imagine.
And the cat was a bonus attraction that my DIL loved and I think he was pretty happy with her too!

Tidy and well organized, good energy, clean vibe
Great place, tidy and well organized, good energy, clean vibe. The guys very professional and knew exactly what they were doing. I needed to replace an antique glass door knob that was stripped. Only $5. First visit. Much better than the place in Indy on East 10th.

4. Peddlers Mall Flea Market

Website: https://traderbucks.com/peddlers-mall/
Address: 8011 East Washington Street
Contact: 317-353-6710
Hours: Sunday–Thursday 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Fri–Saturday 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Fresh inventory is one of the biggest draws for regular visitors to Peddlers Mall Flea Market. The setup runs on a vendor-booth model, so independent sellers rent floor space and rotate their items frequently, keeping the selection changing from visit to visit.
There’s also a consignment area dedicated to larger pieces like vintage appliances and oversized furniture.
The staff is usually on the floor, helping customers, answering questions, and making sure items are returned to the right booths when needed. It helps keep the space organized, even with so many vendors operating inside.
One thing to be aware of is their strict breakage policy. If something gets damaged while shopping, customers are responsible for the cost, including accidental breaks.
Customer Reviews:
The location is phenomenal and brighter!
My first review! I’m visiting my grands in Indy and my daugter suggested I stop in and see the new Peddlers Mall location. I will say this, the location is phenomenal and brighter! If I could give 10 stars to Don for his customer service I would. He told me they’re expanding five day booth sections and I’m strongly considering since I’m in early retirement. Can’t wait to see what’s to come for the mall!

5. Market Vintage

Website: http://marketvintageindy.com/
Address: 9 Johnson Ave
Contact: (317) 762-8780 | [email protected]
Hours: Wed-Sat: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Sun: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Stepping into a former Masonic Lodge to shop for sustainable decor feels striking right away. The historic setting adds a lot of character, and it pairs naturally with the shop’s focus on sustainable fashion and repurposed furniture.
There’s a clear emphasis on mixing modern staples with well-preserved vintage pieces in a way that feels intentional rather than random.
The owner brings experience from estate sales, which shows in the selection. Mid-century chairs, vintage hats, and other items feel curated and not overwhelming.
The space also seems to serve as more than just a shop, with pop-up events that foster a steady sense of community throughout the year.
One limitation is the schedule. They’re closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which can make it harder for casual weekday visitors to stop by.
Customer Reviews:

The selection is very unique.
I absolutely love this vintage store! The selection is very unique and so much to look through. I bought a unique glow in the dark framed print that I saw posted on their Instagram page and they even delivered it to my door! This is a great group of gals that have a great sense of style that run this place. It is even connected to another neat store that you can get to through the back of the store.❤️❤️❤️
